Who need Rock n' Roll when you have polka for accordion, fiddle and 12 hp SAAB??
WOW... once they start playing their instruments, the engines monotone sound falls perfectly into place. WOW!

Trust the Norwegians to come up with something new (well, not to them) and good to watch and hear!!

Harry Borthen as seen on a wonderful - and rare - clear summer night at Fosenkaia in Trondheim:

"Gamle Mårøy" south Tromsø strait this afternoon.

The training office for Maritime subjects Nord started a two week long trip from Hammerfest via Alta, Skjervøy, Finnsnes, Harstad, Sortland and Svolvær with "Gamle Mårøy".
The tour started on Monday this week.

Built in 1959 for Finnmark Fylkes Rederi and celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
      Best wishes from Bengt Domben

That will be a wonderful trip on a wonderful ship! I would like to join!

That is a very beautiful... or as they say, handsome ship. I love the FFR log on the funnel and that she actually looks rather well kept. Beautiful... clearly a typical 1959-built ship. May she have many more years to sail, in NORWAY!

The last of the Liberty Ships appears to have survived a fire at Pier 45, San Fransico:

One more old "Nordlending" that found a new home in far away and warmer waters:

She also got a grave there.
