I must admit though... that the ship in the image, also has a lot of similarities. It could be a sister ship: I might be walking out on the plank here, but I vaguely remember we talked about a sister vessel a while back...

R/Y "Norge" has been anchored the hole day in a bay near Veidholmen north of Smøla a few nautical miles north of Kristiansund.
It has been reported that Queen Sonja and friends took a bicycle ride at the island of Smøla today.
The ship hoisted her anchor at 4:25 PM local time, and is as I write doing 13,8 knots south in Ramsøyfjord (between Smøla and Hitra) on her way to Vega outside Brønnøysund.

Yeapp, I saw in a local paper that she, Her Majesty Queen Sonja, was out riding a bike at Smøla. I must say, she does look good!

I see that this is an old post, but oh please, somebody, do tell me about this signingferd.

Here is a link to the Royal website. Unfortunately only in Norwegian, but maybe you can use the Google translator?

Thanks so much, Oistein and Pakarang. A very informative article which made interesting reading. I watched the video, too, and will go back to read more from the royal website. I now know a little more about your monarchy, one of the few remaining European ones.

A German living now at Trondheim, was so excited today when she ran into HM King Harald at Trondheim trainstation, when the king "suddenly" came to town:

She is a rather beautiful vessel. It makes me so sad that the Royal Yacht Britannia is no longer on Royal duties.

With the blue sky in the background, and her white structure, these are some relly beautiful shots of the NORGE.

Thank you so much for sharing our country's Royal vessel with all of us.

                              Re: Norwegian Royal Yacht "Norge"

Sadly, I haven't been able to see this fine vessel too many times. The only time I can recall seeing it, is in Oslo. I don't think I've ever seen it any other place. Which is very sad, because it is a really beautiful vessel.
The quote above is cut from your very first post in this thread, and I'm happy to say that your wish to see R/Y "Norge" in your home town is now about to be fullfilled!!!

Looking forward to many great images!

Yes, I have images... a lot (or some...).

And I had the opportunity to get a closer look several times because we had to go to town to pick up LNG.

                                Coming... ! Stay tuned.
