    Coastal steamer models of Hurtigruten

Coastal Steamer models of Hobbyruten AS : Can you build them for me?

Do you know anyone with experience in model ship building who could finish these model kits for me to an excellent degree of attention to details, preferably someone who have done one of them before?

I have had these kits in storage for many years and I highly doubt I will ever have enough patience to finish them in a presentable manner: I simply don't have the skills, the knowledge, time or - most importantly, the patience to do it.

I would love to have them completed and displayed at my apartment...

I just don't know anybody who are good at assembling plastic models and making all the woodwork by hand... it's not done in a week for sure... Rolling Eyes

Maybe a good project for dark autumn nights?

The first kit is of the 1950 Sanct Svithun:

    The hull itself is premade:

It has been a while, but today I finally received my model of "Nordstjernen" - and it's a very fine model, I think :-)
Beautifully made with nice details. I hope I will be able to post some pictures soon.

I would like to know, are there a lot of members here that have a HOBBYRUTEN set of any of the ships... completed or not?

Care to share some images of your boats, when they are done?

Would also love to see pictures from the building process of these sets.

That model of Kong Harald illuminated in darkness is most impressive.

I still have these ships sitting in the corner of my apartment, in storage. I asked Hobbyruten if they knew of any pensioners who could take upon themsleves the task of finishing these models for me, and they responded they would check. That is now more than half a year ago, so I do not expect to hear from them again.

Does any of our members know of any retired Captains who would be good at this sort of stuff?

Well, the description claims that this model is "made in a series of 10", so it could be done for promotion etc.
