This is an old image in my collection, probably from late 80's or early 90's. I recall it being taken at a Maritime Museum in Norway, possibly the one in Oslo.

The ship is Nordlys, the ship which was built and delivered from Aalborg, Denmark, on May 12th 1951:

I have three of the Hobbyruten building sets: Nordstjernen, Sanct Svithun and Finnmarken.

Does anyone know of anyone who wishes to build them for me?

Experience with these models naturally required, as I'd like to have them back as immaculate handcrafted models.

I'm now adding a lot of pictures of the models at "Hurtigrute Museet" in the museum's own thread.... (starting on page 2 onwards)...:

Any luck in getting your models built...?
(Don't look at me. I had a grandfather once who built his great models from ground up, but I have never built a ship model in my life...).

Sadly no... I'm still looking for anyone - someone - with experience to build them up for me. They are in their boxes besides my bed and twice a day, I get really frustrated to see them like that.

I really really really wish to have them completed and displayed on a shelf.

But I have no idea where to turn. Any good tips, anyone knowing any "fngernemme" pensioners who could and would assemble them and make them into a master piece, please direct me to their attention.

I found a link to a Swedish auction house where this rather nice model of Kong Olav is for sale for the moment.

                  Link to the auction: http://www.kolonn.se/auktionsobjekt-...ten-under.aspx

I decided to not bid on this one.

A nice model indeed, start bidding price of 7000 SEK... Wish I was a millionaire.

Wonder if this was made out of a Hobbyruten - kit?

Well, the description claims that this model is "made in a series of 10", so it could be done for promotion etc.

                        I noticed that too...

I still have 4 ships at home from Hobbyruten, waiting for the day I can find someone who can finish them for me.

I still have these ships sitting in the corner of my apartment, in storage. I asked Hobbyruten if they knew of any pensioners who could take upon themsleves the task of finishing these models for me, and they responded they would check. That is now more than half a year ago, so I do not expect to hear from them again.

Does any of our members know of any retired Captains who would be good at this sort of stuff?

That model of Kong Harald illuminated in darkness is most impressive.
