Thank you Eilun for your wonderful photos! When were you in Harstad? I love seeing the photos taken there, seeing my home town and the surrounding area through someone elses eyes. And the chart, showing both Grytøy, Bjarkøy and all the surrounding islands makes me want to go right back north again. I am looking forward to seeing more photos from this voyage, and I've got to ask, when the ship got to the southern end of Tjeldsundet, they passed by a little town called Lødingen on the starboard side. Did you see and/or photograph the ferries there?

EDIT: I now see that you have posted a photo showing Lødingen in the distance, and I can actually see the ferry "Hamarøy" in the photo as well (#944, photo number 3)

We were in Harstad 6. March northbound and 10. March southbound. We passed Lødingen around 14:30. Sorry, I didn't keep an eye on the ferries, they were so far away. We have had the idea that we would like to visit Lødingen, but our Captain followed other plans.

At the video clip the waves looks higher - I had not the feeling we were steaming a lot. Now I found the ship's bell in the video on my photos, too. I love it to see Lofoten from this viewpoint.

I was not completely happy this day. We missed the highlights Raftsund and Svolvær and I hoped to visit the Hurtigrutemuseum in Stokmarknes and looking for new souvenirs. It is six years ago since I was there for the last time. (The advantage was that I saved a lot of money.)

It was announced that we will stop and wait until dinner is finished. At this time lunch was just finished and I thought it is better first being seasick and then having dinner, instead of first having dinner and...

We didn't stop but rather sailed very slowly - could be the best solution. When the waves got higher, it was too dark for taking photos and I was sleeping and not seasick.

Sandnessjøen - he enjoys the shower?

No, I don't wish to say something about the weather. I needed a warm and dry place and I found it

Very interesting images, great atmosphere and certainly another memorable voyage on a Hurtigruten ship.

Thank you so much for sharing your moments.

Interested in technique or not, You feel some awe when seeing pictures of such machinery - original from 1963 - still working, going on and on and on....

Her lines makes half the picture. A shame "Nordstjernen" is not in Hurtigruten anymore. Anyways, "Lofoten", southbound from Harstad.

The classic ships have always been so easy to get good photos of. The lines of the ships makes half the photo.

All your recent Harstad pictures are great, ships sliding away in the morning mist, but you are right. Lofoten has this special elegance. I am in love...

Such darker evenings with lights in the ship and their reflections make very lovely photos - especially with your ability Bengt. This one makes me want to be aboard.
So good to see so many posts from you again. I was missing you and the Tromsø scene
