Info. from Hurtigruten: current planned departure 1400 Sunday 3rd & ship sailing direct to Trondheim.

Yes, that's correct. Lofoten has now left Fredrikshavn bound to Bergen.
Departure from Bergen is preliminary changed to 10:00 on Sunday morning, all ports to Trondheim will be canceled.

Goodness Richard and Tommi, this is “exciting” even before your trip starts!
Talking of Trondheim, it looks very wet and windy this morning, and both Trollfjord and Midnatsol are at Ila. (I was going to capture them on the webcam at Turistskipskaia but the visibility keeps deteriorating.)

            Hi Sarnia,

Yes is, me & Tommi (from Trondheim). Am at Schiphol in transit at moment.
Hurtigruten have booked overnight hotel in Bergen. Weather looks intersting to say least (this is reason MS not coming S of Trondheim!

            Well it isn't boring!

Instead for double posting in my trip thread, I'll add some more documentary stuff here.

              Anybody had cabin 102?

I can see a little uncompability with the cabin key.

It's actually not at all as uncomfortable as it looks.

Pretty quiet and enjoyable, at least by the 50's standards. And "real" ships beds too.

And a storage locker below your bed.

                Signalling equipment.

And a loudspeaker for announcements. I never heard this being functional.

And a ventilation device. I don't think that the adjustement actually works. There were some words on board that some parts of the airconditioning was upgraded during the visit on dock last week. The first days tha cabin were a bit chilly (not cold) and the last day was quite warm.

                Lamp details.

The deck 1 toilets are about camping standard. You can find some nicer lavatories on deck 2 and 3.

But they are actually "real" WC's.

                    Cabin corridor, deck 2.

                    Escape route.

                    The entrance on deck 3.

And the famous ice bear. Note the coat hangers in the corners, a unique feature today on Hurtigruten.

                    And Mr. Bear himself.

                    Opposite view.

                        The famous chair-chains.

There's always something going on here, in a nice relaxed tempo of course.

And here you can buy the postcard of the ship, taken by CVF member Kim Viktor. How the photo ended up on that card is a other story.

                            Re: ::: Lofoten :::

Thanks Tommi for the nice pictures.

I was not in cabin 102 but 302 has exactly the same time of furnishing obviously, so the details on your photos bring back nice memories to me

Is cabin 102 quiet ? It seemed so when I had a stroll around the ship..

I can see a little uncompability with the cabin key.
I was surprised too, being accustomed to modern ships so far ... I did not see the real-old key inside the envelope at the beginning and I went to the reception to say that the key did not fit

Note the coat hangers in the corners, a unique feature today on Hurtigruten.
I guess it is very handy if your cabin does not have a close access to the outside decks! Just in case there is a superb light outside when you are eating or something...

And a storage locker below your bed.
My storage locker did not lock properly so I had to put something in front of it so that at night I would not be disturbed by the noise of it in the event of high sea ... But it was handy!

I like your black and white photo of lounge. When I look at the photos, it reminds me that everything is so clean and tidy in there ...

Very nice “documentation” Tommi, but as always with you many images that go way beyond that, from the simplest light fitting to the well-chosen b/w.

I’ve been more aboard LF as day passenger, and the only cabin I’ve inhabited is the miniscule 122, so your 102 seems really spacious to me!

Oh and PanjiS…I haven’t been replying to your recent cabin queries on various ships, and that is simply because I am the kind of person not much bothered my noise considerations. I can’t even remember how noisy or otherwise 122 was!

Look at these detail pictures!! Great and so good to see the rooms in detail you mostly don't have a close look to. This B/W picture is a piece of art and shows how authentic the scenery on Lofoten is today! I think details like the coat hangers are exactly what gives you this "being at home" feeling. You are not a passenger, you are actually living there and can do the daily routines, like at home.
