    Great pictures Sterkoder of a lovely lady with perfect lines, if you ask me

      Thank you, Bengt! Nice comments give me joy!
      Upon a second close look, it seems like her port stern spring (right beneath the 'IG' in HURTIGRUTEN) has got a dent...? Or...?

        Big S, I think I can see a square centimeter without a dent! (==

          Me too..., it's not that. But I mean; it looks like the edge is pushed in, a bigger dent,...., made by a quay or something...

            Great images Sterkoder of a beautiful vessel!

            I don't think the white paint is torn off though, it's probably primer added after some rust chipping from the quay side. I bet it's the start of the spring-cleaning of the ship that we now see.

            Yes, I do understand what you say about the white lifeboats from an estethical point of view, but in case of an emergency during mid-winter where abandoning ship is needed, I'd rather be in a covered lifeboat or a covered liferaft. I'm sure you agree... .

            But, I'm wondering, how-come these lifeboats are not required to be painted orange? What is the current regulations on lifeboat colors? I do not have the SOLAS right in front of me to be able say what it says about the color.

              Oh, I have no problems to agree to that.
              But just vision in your mind 4 orange "tubes" from lets say Norsafe AS hanging on the sides...? I can't imagine, and no matter what...., in this case I have to go with design before reason

              Don't know about the rules and regs about colour of lifeboats though..., and not right now anyway, when a huge lasagne is making its way on the table, together with fresh salad and ice cold Tuborg Green (Mmmmmmmmmm)

                      What a stunning photo! And it's timeless! It might as well been taken in the 60's, 70's or 80's

                          And if, correction WHEN, I win the lottery, you can come along on my expense and we'll have a blast in the rough seas!

                            Seems Lofoten needs another repair to main engine. Hurtigrute website shows her direct from Alesund to Bergen tomorrow (07.04).
                            Departing Bergen 04:00 on 08.04 direct to Alesund, Molde cancelled and back on route from Kristiansund.
