Time to look at these wonderfull NX posts during a pause in the TV coverage of the F1 Race in Malaysia due to heavy rain ..... Well you know me...
I'll be back in NX photo sorting mode this afternoon!!!!

Anyway, so nice to see you here on CVF, Muddi...big welcome, especially for me as my embarrassing lack of any German language results in my not keeping so in touch with your activities as I should. I was delighted to meet you all on the ship, and I so liked your T-shirt and motto!

And now here also are fantastic photos from you HurtigruteHelge...and how perfect that you have documented exactly a part of the trip that I didn't do (there hadn't been a cabin available earlier), and even the viewpoints in Bergen are different from mine...couldn't have turned out more perfectly!

You really have caught the mix of emotions that this voyage has been all about. Thank you SO much for sharing your experiences here.

Seagull on Nordstjernen’s last trip – Harstad

Now I’m ready to begin to post some photos’s of Nordstjernen’s last trip. Other photos of interest taken during my week away can wait to appear in other threads sometime later. Here I’ll prepare and post Nordstjernen photos a port at a time, with headings to make it clearer, so all can continue to post any other news, photos and comments about the ship.

I had flown via Oslo to Harstad, and, as you may already have read in the thread Seagull away a while, spent a delightful afternoon and evening with The Sea-Otter Kristian, and Olaf Horsevik.

Next morning, Monday 19 March, I was at the end of the quay watching for Nordstjernen to appear. Here is my first sight of her in the far distance. You can see I was thinking “skyscape”! – though it will be difficult to make a choice for my daily picture.

As you will already have seen, Kristian had come to take photos of this last call at Harstad and Carina was coming aboard to head home to Stamsund. Their photos of the ship arriving at the quay are simply perfect. So I don’t really want to show you more, except possibly this view we all like to take! It reminds me how I was darting about trying to catch it at a different moment and view point from everybody else without getting in anyone’s way!

Norlines’ Sunnmøre, seen on the right of this photo, had been moored in Nordstjernen’s place at the quay and moved into the northbound Midnatsol’s position after she left.

Then I went aboard to Reception to get my boarding card.

                      Midnatsol had just departed.

Professional photographers, press and TV crews were to become a familiar sight around the ship and in the ports…

I kept reminding myself that on this trip I must take photos which included parts of the ship while also showing recognisable views of the ports we called at.
