Due to technical reason, "Nordstjernen" cancel sailing Tromsø - Bergen 14.09 to 17.09 -2010.
The company comes back within the day with information about sailing northbound from Bergen 17.09.2010.

    .......
With all these cancellations and technical issues, it leaves me thinking the ships are really tired, and that the route is now starting to be a bit too hard on them. Sometimes I think of their extended service as pressing a retiree to continue working despite passing their retirement age.

That explains a lot! I saw them while resting at Flakk in the Trondheimsfjord at 06:00 hours in the morning when they came in: and yes, I did get a photo of them sailing side by side in the darkness.

I don't know how well the image came out as I have not downloaded them yet, but I will sure post whatever I have soon.

An unusual sight indeed: side by side out of the darkness.

I have to apologize, the images didn't turn out too well (even though, I do still like them). They were taken at 06:00 hours, and it was still dark: the ferry was moving, and I shot without a tripod: f2.8 and ISO 12800!

              Great, J-O!!!!
I consider this a scoop..., but them two might be sailing alongside in the fjord more times than I know of...??
If so, there might be a chanse again in a much lighter part of the year.
              Thank you for posting!

I can clearly see that this new lens of mine, really suits my 7D much better!

BTW, had I had my hands free, I would have gotten a much better image of the two ships together, because 5 minutes earlier they were literally "side by side".

When I finally got a moment to aim and shoot the images, Nordstjernen had already pressed ahead and made more speed.

Keelson! – your first photo in post #537 - LOVE it – all your ducks in a row so to speak!
And that looks like Tege on the far right? (though there may well be other ships in that unmistakable colour combination/livery that I simply haven’t caught up on ).

I have more photos of Nordstjernen from the summer of 2009 that I have never got round to posting here on CV ….but they have just taken a huge leap on my to-do list! Thanks for the inspiration! And for all your brilliant contributions to the forum recently which I was too busy to respond to personally.

Which do you mean, the 4-Mast-Barque? It is the russian SEDOV.

Oh Keelson, sorry, I mustn’t have been quite awake when I wrote that! I meant on the left of the row of ships! Asimut had some good photos of Tege recently.

Ah, you mean the green-yellow-one, don't know, have to take a look on the picture in the original size, maybe it is possible to read.
