Can't wait for the photos Yves. I know yesterday was special up there because my brother in law, bless him, posted a photo of FM arriving on Facebook and he said what a perfect day it was. Have a great time.

Here's what it looked like from the webcam - perhaps we can see you? (Sorry it's a bigger file than usual).

As ever - enormous thanks to Kystnor.no for these BRILLIANT webcams along the coast.

Perfect choice of ship... Finnmarken is one of the really best ships I think, and the bow-viewing deck is a great place as long as the weather and clothes holds.

Great. I wish you a pleasant journey. I am curious to see some detailed report before we embark at end of june. Please have a look at the vehicles they take abord. Especially if there are big ones: suv, pick up, transporters, vans! And enjoy. A whole trip is perfect and still on my list also ( however it must be on lofoten in my case).

For the first time at this period of the year, Françoise and I will be onboard from 20th february to 4th march for a whole trip. We choose Finnmarken for its observation deck at the bow (like Fram).
Hope we'll have a real Norwegian weather and the opportunity to see some northern lights (though if we don't, Hurtigruten offers another 7 days trip for free!!!) .
Of course I'll be ready for a friendly chat with CVF members when docking.

Striking image - truly "Hurtigruten" as I remember it so well. Love the large windows of this ship - and in this image, you can clearly see the "insides" of the ship because of these panoramic windows.

As usual now, I'm a bit (or very) late with my answer. No, my friend, this was no effect, it was pure real life. "Downpouren mit katzen und hunden", as I once saw it described in a cartoon by Bob Stevens.

Awesome image of the Finnmarken, Sir Sterkoder - was it raining or is it just the effect?

    Hope you kept dry!

Pretty boat. Not very pretty weather! Lucky you being there though, lovely place, even in the rain. I almost (not quite though) feel guilty that we had such beautiful weather in June when we passed FM as she was on her way into Svolvær (post 953 a few back).
