I have a similar opinion, Sarnia. Finnmarken has so much more character than the other new ships. It is much more charming to me as Midnatsol and Trollfjord.
For sure my first choice, if it had to be a "new" ship! And Martin: thank you so much for your report, so great to stalk you again a little bit!

Thank you for all these pictures Martin (and all of you who contributed to this thread). Finnmarken is a ship that really appeals to me, somehow the mood on board (from the pictures) remind me of a bigger MS Fram, which I really like. If I was to pick another ship than MS Lofoten for a winter voyage, it would be Finnmarken for sure. Now that I know that MS Lofoten still has at least a few more years as a Hurtirgrute ship, I'm beginning to think my next trip will be on MS Finnmarken.

It was very foggy in Trøndelag yeasterday. So foggy that it was difficult to see the beautiful Kjeungskjæret Lighthouse.

The ship slowed down the speed. And sailed quite near to the lighthouse, so all cruisepassengers could be able to see it.

I think this image illustrates the foggy weathercondition

Well of course I immediately had to turn to the deck plans and locate your very interesting cabin! So good to have these photos of the unusual layout.

You are doing so well with your all your interiors photography Martin and I am very struck with the clever angle looking up through the decks in #779/1.

One thing that struck me is that I particularly like the décor of the dining room at the time you took your photos because the blueness outside of the windows so perfectly complements the chair colours and general ambience. Almost “Nupen-blue” outside!

Added edit: this post "crossed" with others due to interruptions, but I'm sure you realised how much I like #782/2 !!!!!

The open space through all decks is very tiny. But it gives an impression of air and light

There are so much beautiful art on this ship. Here represented by Kjell Nupen in Fløybaren

It is just me out sailing with this jewel of a ship.

And since this is my first travel with Finnmarken since she was "down under". and the
weather is so foggy that we are not able to see anything outside, I would just like to share some interior-picture of her

Welcome to my tiny "room". I stay in an inside cabin (369). And this is quite interesting. Because I have never stayed in a cabin like this before. Where the cabin is placed longside, with the door-entrance at the long side of the cabin. Just a very few cabins lookes like this.

Beautiful, and a little "old fashion" lines even in the dining room.

    Detail at deck 4
