Lucky you, who has sailed with her. Lucky Seagull, who is going to. She would make a nice CVF yacht....

Thank you so much for all these posts. Interesting to see all these water demolitions at the Venice houses. If that would be in my country, the inhabitants would claim for Governments help. In Venice this is apparently a normal state. Personally i don't want to live in a house which is so soaked with humidity. Winter pictures are very clear showing that.
I also like the last bunch of pictures - natural, without post-processing, delightful (little teaser).

I know that Captain will know I've spent absolutely hours in admiration at this magnificent collection of images, so I shall try to restrain myself from enthusing here at too great a length and exhausting everyone else. Especially having chattered so much about Dublin in the Fram voyage thread recently!

But it's worth mentioning that my first visit to Dublin, like my first and so far only visit to Venice, was to attend a conference about the writer James Joyce (who lived for years not so far away in Trieste). These conferences always take place in mid-June (those who persevered with that Fram thread will know why!). So in contrast I delighted in dear pakarang's story-line starting in #157. By the time I reached #158 I literally made a note of what time of year to travel should I return to Venice. Now at which table shall I sit at that café?

I don't know whether I love the canal-alleys or the paved-piazzas the best! Pakarang photo places, both with panache in distinctive style.
It was worth catching up with the crowds at the Rialto to watch the cargo-handling (#160/2) before reaching St Mark’s Square in the next post. Thought I knew what it looks like …then put on pakarang eyes. Iconic architecture from a different perspective, skyscape-style too!

If I can only have one image I'd like #163/5 please. Oh that arch on the right!... Everything else in that picture (including the Rialto Bridge!) is just there to draw me to that arch, and hypnotise and hold me for a while before letting me loose to imagine behind and beyond.

You were wise with your shopping.
I feel I've been wearing a pakarang mask of the most exquisite quality and workmanship through which to see this city.

Finally from Serenissima the city to more intoxicating images of Serenissima the ship:
Oh yes! …"your" view in #167/4 and an unusual and photogenic tree to complete the picture. This kind of thing - the ship in every port - inspires intentions for my own voyage.

Thank you all very much for the nice and encouraging comments.

So very happy to see that even Ralf liked some of my images.... but I really hate to spoil your "likes" by telling you that the compact camera images are also edited in photoshop.

Here are the continuation of the trip.... from Kotor, Montenegro:
