it was early evening , just managed to see her dock with the castle backdrop .

Good pictures Kiki. Condor Liberation was built in 2010 in Australia as Austal 270 (not a very exciting name), but never got a 'proper job' until now.
    Cheers,

    Mark.

there was a competition to choose the name, as its the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day this year,,, that was the name picked .

Terrific Kiki. Great timing and a sense of scale with the yellow jackets on the right in #1967/4, and what perfect timing in #1967/5 ! Love the silhouette of the castle in the last photo and the light through the clouds.

SVANØY at Kristiansund Mech. ship repair yard today. New Fjord1 logo mounted on the bow. If I like it? Nope. Looks like the Norwegian airline Norwegian just started a ferry company.

                    Oh my goodness..... that logo!

No other comment, apart from Svanøy being a fantastic vessel in every aspect of the word. The Rolls Royce of ferries.

It does, Sterkoder - and I almost expected to see some famous Norwegian or other painted on the funnel!

Arghhhh, I expect some "designer" will have been paid a small fortune to come up with that.

Getting so logo-annoyed that I almost forgot to say what an excellent photo of Svanøy - always a favourite of mine, and one of "your" ferries too Captain pakarang I always remember that New Year's Eve you were aboard her.

This does look like a former Norwegian ferry, but perhaps there are some experts out there...?
