Went down to the yard at Krimek today, to take some pictures of a resently painted "Veøy". Not the complete ferry, but anyway the view...

                  The amazing Queen Mary 2:

I have to say I felt incredibly small when I saw that bow come towards me, standing on a floating wharf just outside Aker Brygge, that is certainly a very imposing view. The rear view shot shows there were a whole lot of people outside during the departure from Oslo, with the rear sun deck seemingly fairly well filled with people...

What a great photo…. absolutely capturing that recently painted look. I can hardly imagine any ship looking so fresh and bright as this does!

Eirik! What a viewpoint, what a ship, what a great departure! Surely among the very best images on this thread. Thank goodness your recent exams and other commitments didn’t clash with this!

How far along Aker Brygge is your floating wharf? Just in case I should ever be there at such a departure! (Which reminds me I have some photos for the Oslo thread )

I'll be seeing the QM2 in 3 weeks time, but I'll never get shots like that!

                          Thank you...

To get to that floating wharf, you just walk to the new restaurant "Onda" at Aker Brygge, and you simply just walk out to the end of the pier, where the floating wharf starts. There are lots of very expensive boats there, walk past them until you get to the end, which in turn gets you very close to the "action"...
