      Opposite end of the scale - Great Expectations, the ferry from Southampton to Hythe, hurtling towards us (well, maybe not 'hurtling' - 10 knots max!).

        A somewhat more advanced ferry boat then the one I used to take across to Soton now and again!

          A photo i took this summer of Athena,sadly this is maybe was one of the last picture i got of her. Lets hope she can be saved and stay in service fore some more years

              Red Falcon steaming into Southampton yesterday. Voith Schneider propulsion on these - makes them very good at going around yachts that are in the way.

                  Sorry Thijs - I should have said that the Pakarang view was taken from dry land - the berth - as the boat was coming in.

                  I know that she can go around yachts quickly 'cos she had to when we were travelling on her 20 minutes later - not great photos, but you get the idea - one out of the front, one out of the back.





                  Sorry - somewhat off thread - but fun at the time!
