Such a lovely image, Bengt with so much detail to see from your your close up viewpoint, and a nice contrasting background. Jan-Olav had seen her out in Trondheimsfjord, passing his ferry I think, so it is good to see she has now reached Tromsø too.

The Artania is such a beauty.... she is one of my favourite classical cruise ships. I remember her very well as the Royal Princess, she sailed a lot of times in the same track as my ship that time (RV Sun), and I vividly remember her transmitting the Panama Canal next to us. That must have been early, early 90's.....

Seven Seas Navigator is also a rather handsome ship... there is something pretty about her that I can't really pinpoint, but she is quite "nice".... (and I know, that sounds very cheesy...).

Thank you so very much for capturing and sharing - I for one, appreciate it very much. I don't think there is anywhere else on the entire Internet I can come to see such high quality images of cruise ships. I have checked, and it's true.... nobody provides such high quality images, and for that, I love my family here at CVF!

As a sign of my appreciation, I share these fresh images from today.... a truly beautiful, classical ship: the OCEAN MAJESTY:

Such a beautiful ship with classical lines and with a great "sway" in her decks.... no ships constructed today are like this, this is one beauty and I hope she will have many more years cruising to exotic destinations.

I think the updating has changed her appeal. She looks like any other big ship now. Oh well.......

"Any other big ship" is a bit too severe in my opinion. There are not many left of this kind. In fact she is one of the 10 oldest cruise ships worldwide now...
And the perspective, J-O has chosen is a very friendly one.

What a stunning transformation from her earlier years. Truly stunning. Looks like everything but the actual hull has been replaced or modified. Transformations like this will never be done these days.

On September 2nd 2019, the majestic Queen Elizabeth came to Trondheim.

This ship is a great example on a ship with a "heavy" name. She is actually "just another" Vista class, and had she be named something else.... like HEIDI (for example), she wouldn't have been "so special" if you get me. With a name like Queen Elizabeth, the ship becomes something else... the name makes the ship special.

"Silver Explorer" arrived in Tromsø on thursday morning this week after sailing from Nome, Alaska via the northeast passage and they ended the voyage here in Tromsø, which took 25 days.
The ship sailed out of Tromsø again friday morning with the first stop on Bear Island, and then on to the islands around Svalbard.

WOW... that's a long voyage indeed. I have never seen that ship in Trondheim, and I even doubt I have seen her anywhere else in the world too. Handsome little thing.

Viking Sun has just commenced the longest cruise for any ship ever (so far):
                              https://www.maritime-executive.com/a...longest-cruise
%3 passengers are booked for the entire cruise while the rest will take only parts of the route.
The present Captain is of course a Sunnmøring according to smp.no:
"Viking Sun" has recently embarked on what will be the world's longest continuous cruise. In 245 days, she will visit 51 countries on six continents. Captain aboard is Olav Søvdsnes from Rovde in Vanylven.
                          Working...
