I wonder how many passengers are aboard? I'm sure the crew outnumber them.

I think we mentioned the North Korean cruise ship at least once before....

Still does not seem right for a ship to have big red lips.

You are so right. Chinese Junks used to have eyes painted on either side of the bow so they could SEE other boats, or scare away evil spirits, whichever came first.

That make some sort of sense, but what is LIPS for!!!

Well, apparently whoever came up with the paint scheme for the AIDA boats was a Taoist:

                    There is eyes too.

                    Here is another "peculiarity":

Does it serve any purpose I wonder???

PS> When we came back in the evening there were people on several of the balconies, including a fat old women in her undies. (No pics)

The AIDADiva was not alone at the Cruise Centre yesterday:

We met the Legend of the Seas on the way out in the evening:

Just like one week ago, only seen from the opposite side this time.

The Legend of the Seas is "homeported" here in Singapore.

You have to love the rock wall growing out of her back like a tumor.

I must be getting old. Modern cruise ship design is really pissing me off. Ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, water slides, Flow Riders, zip lines, carousels, mediocre chain American restaurants. At what point do you just go to the local shopping mall?

Well, don't know if this one counts as 'shopping mall' or cruise ship - but at least she doesn't have a Aida style paint job!

Arcadia in Southampton this morning, moored alongside Galatea - Trinity House (the people who look after the buoys and lighthouses around the UK's coast) has two Lighthouse Tenders, this one and Pharos.

                            Cheers,

Look out for Monday 25th of June 2012! That day the two sisters, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, will meet in Flåm, Norway, Norways no 3 cruiseharbour! QV at anchor, QE at the cruise pier. Let's pray for good weather! Many people will go to Flåm for the sight! And A'll be there!
                              Sincerely Yours....

(Since they both come from Stavanger, the chance is that they'll also meet there, the day before, but the cruise list for Stavanger has not been published yet...)

                                Hi Sigve,

                                Cunard's cruise list helps (www.cunard.co.uk).

The Queens are indeed both in Stavanger on the 24th, before going to Flåm on the 25th. Should be rather fun to have both in. (QE will be on cruise Q210, Queen Vic on V215).

The Queen Mary was also in Southampton today. She's off to New York tonight - think that may be a little bumpy in places!
