That`s my thought also, she surely started in Hamburg. But is there no need to carry empty containers back to Asia?

Certainly, empty containers form much of the return cargo from Europe to Asia, but they are loaded at several ports around Europe, a lot in Rotterdam.
If she arrive fully loaded, where is those containers going to go? When passing Gibraltar east bound there will probably be containers to the max. capacity, with 60-70% empties. Such is the World Trade picture and the drawback with containers. Then again, if break bulk, the ships would probably be less than half full on the east bound voyage now a days. In my days on the Europe - Far East run it was a more balanced trade, with manufactured goods outbound and raw material on the return trip.

What do you think this newbuilt vessel is going to be used for???:

the ''tug elbe foundation'' advertising with to sail with them jan -10 2015 when the ''Pieter Schelte'' arrivés in Rotterdam.49,95euro.
but she will arrive around 9,00am,while at 11,00am

Sussed it out now from the website. The Elbe will be sailing to where the Pieter Schelte will be docking. But where will the CSCL Globe dock? Surely you'll be able to see it even if you aren't there to watch it come in.

I'm being thick, I know. But after you have seen the PS (if you take that trip) can you not drive to where you will be able to see the Globe? Then you can have the best of both worlds. The Elbe trip would be marvellous, Thijs, you mustn't miss that.
You know, it is lovely when you mention places around Maasvlachte 2, for because of you I can picture and remember it all instead of just going to a map.

Can't you do the Maasluis one at 1 p.m. on 31 Jan.?
