    APPLE News

Oh, I have just been WAITING to start a thread in the MUG....

    Saw this on twitter....

Stever Jobs/Apple unveiling iCloud at Worldwide Developers Conference

Hey, Captain...when you get a sec...change the "my" on "my own MUG" to "our"???

As some of us have made the switch?? (mwahahahahahaha come to the dark side, we have cookies.......)

really interested in this iCloud thingy.....
    Re: APPLE News

iCLOUD sounds really exiting... there has been a LOT of buzz around Apple the past couple of days....

I also read that they are going to build a brand new space-ship-like HQ somewhere in the US... (can't remember the name of that little town).

From MY to OUR... good idea!

I am thinking their current design move is a mistake. Similar to when they removed the buttons from the iPod Shuffle only to have them return in the next generation. Mac's use is extremely high among photographers and videographers. Everything in that industry has a USB 2 or 3 port or uses SD cards. To not include them on the new Mac's is a huge mistake in my opinion How many cameras or external hard drives have USB C? The day will eventually come but it's not here yet. I don't want a new, ***y, slim computer that requires me to plug in a dongle before any work can begin. And, don't get me started on their wisdom to place them on only the left side of the laptop.

I know what you mean Dane. I find that my Mac is much faster on a wired ethernet connection than WiFi, so I have to have a plug in ethernet dongle taking up a port. I then have the Time Machine drive and anything else I need on a USB hub, so, as you say, you're plugging things in the whole time just to get enough ports to use. Perhaps when the new screen comes out and everything is connected by one Thunderbolt connector, all will be wonderful - if you're happy to pay Apple prices for a 5K 27" screen. I think that not having a card reader in is going to be a pain from the photography point of view.

What does everyone think of Apple's trend in laptops? I'm really hating their removal of ports. What good is making a computer smaller and thinner if you need to drag around a separate dongle to plug anything in?

Have you found your 'free' U2 album yet? The one that appeared unannounced with iOS8?

Not a perfect fit for this thread but not enough content to start another... I visited the larges, most expensive to build and highest grossing Apple store on the planet.

I had to visit just to see the entrance. It think it's the largest glass structure bla...bla...bla... Still it's a very cool space. I've seen the glass cube in Manhattan (New York) and thought it would be cool to see the glass cylinder. The store inside is much like every other Apple store except bigger and with a lot more room between tables. The spiral staircase up into the glass cylinder though is rather spectacular.

I hate it though. Everything in the industry is aimed toward the phones and iPad even secondary. The computers are in the corner and for the largest store they had very few accessories for my Air 11". I was hoping at least for a saxy new case but they only had boring; clear, white and some odd blue color.

So, finally, iOS7 is out and ready for installation.... first impression is that I like the look and feel, but that I'm also a little disappointed that my old iPHONE 3 doesn't support the new iOS.

Anyway, I still use two phones, and the other phone, an iPHONE 4 - and the iPAD - has been updated.

Today is a special day in the countdown towards the launch of a new iMAC some time soon....

According to MacRumors ( http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#iMac ) today is the day we reach the average days since last update...

Oh, I pray so hard for a 32" or a 36" new iMAC with higher resolution and fast speeds.

The past 2-3 months, my 4-5 year old iMAC is starting to struggle to keep up. I try to ignore it naturally, and keep it as clean/fast as possible, but when working with large RAW-files, it often hangs a bit.

    iCLOUD.....

Not a good start for iCLOUD as the virtual server in the sky is plagued with loosing files of it's customers..... Not a good start for this service.

What makes me wonder, is about the future of Apple INC... will they, and the new leader, be able to continue to deliver in the future.

The iPhone 4S was a disappointment for many, but for me, I was kind of relieved. With the new 4S I see no need to upgrade my wish list yet. I just don't see why I should upgrade from 4 to 4S.

What a sad news to receive this morning: this is a person which changed the world we live in, and changed the way we connect digitally.

People that has this great impact on the whole world aren't born every year.
