Taking a less exclusive table, one more attuned to people watching, I made some menu choices –and even took some photographs.

I especially enjoyed the crispy fried silver fish…

…and the prawns with blackberry mayonnaise and honey sauce.

I like the contrasting tones of trees both inside and outside in this view, taken later in the day when it had become cloudy and wet.

But those food photos have distracted me from the actual order of events that day, for it was before dining and while it was still sunny that we had ascended to the SkyPark. For non-residents of the hotel, the ticket office and entrance to the lifts is at basement level, reached from the outside of the building where we had exited at the far (Tower 3) end of the mall.

In the next instalment I will show you the view!

          Mmmm. I'm getting hungry.

I assume this restaurant is not cheap.

The overhead bridge is for the exclusive use of "High Rollers". Direct access from their exclusive and free hotel facilities to the VIP Rooms in the Casino across the road, where free food and drinks are served 24/7 and the sky is the limit at the tables.

They are arriving by free private jets, met by free Rolls Royce's at the VIP Terminal at Changi Airport and taken directly to the special VIP Entrance, (no need for a check-in counter) never to meet with people of a lesser standing.
If they are not broke by the time they leave, they will have the same treatment on departure.

How to join this exclusive group? You just open an account of at least USD 1 Mill. in cash at the casino.

PS> They don't have to pay SGD 20 to go to the SkyPark either. Looking forward to see the view from there for free when Seagull put on the next installment.

Surprisingly affordable! As well as the food pictured, D had a special rice with vegetables and a large portion pork dish, and some tea and two large glasses of a decent white wine were consumed – and including taxes and charges and eventual appearance on my card account in British pounds it came to £76 for the two of us which compares very favourably with Edinburgh prices for such a style of establishment.
Altogether an unplanned and pleasant last few hours in Singapore, and we had avoided the earlier rush and queues for taxis when the heavy rain started. (I later heard that the SkyPark was closed later that day due to the severity of the weather!)

Yes ombugge, no surprise that the Casino was an early part of the resort complex to be up and running!
Right, I’ll go sort out some SkyPark views for you next.

Pakarang seems to be enjoying this!!! So then it’s time to take the lift up to the SkyPark!

Just to get you oriented, we are heading first to the observation platform which (if you refer to the photo in #322) is the jutting out pointed bit on the left.

Looking down at the construction of the lotus-shaped building, and across the bay you can see the Esplanade theatre, the floating stage, and on the right the Helix Bridge.
