Mind you all, all these photographs were taken on free-hand and may not be of the upper quality, but to me, they do describe some of the atmosphere felt that night at the Tivoli.

Because they are hand-held, the ISO has been cracked up considerably. We are talking about ISO-settings of 1600, 3200, 6400 and in the most extreme cases 12800. With higher ISO, you will get the grainy look which you can see through these posts.

The best would naturally to be photographing at ISO 100, but then you would need a tripod and a lot more time between each image to set up camera, and much longer exposure-times.

I'm however quite satisfied with some of the results despite the high ISO...

Looking back at the small "lake" from two posts ago: this time, I found a fence to rest my camera on:

Whomever said illuminated trees are not beautiful, were wrong... at least in accordance with my opinion:

I think it was Dane who wanted to see this pirate-restaurant-ship, so the dedication goes there:

I will give you all a breath in my rapid-posting, in order for all of you to fully enjoy the images, and hopefully give you some time to toss me some comments on their execution.

This will be the last for now, and when I continue, I will take you inside to see the "nisse"-exhibition.

See! Some more “colour” images - red ones this time - me love #91/1.
And in 91/3 it is the composition which works so well – from the foreground Christmas tree, through the group of people and the “arrow-head” formed by the Chinese lanterns, I just WANT to go explore round that corner!

Oooooooh, red path in #94! – the people along it; the perfect placing of the illuminated tree and just enough contrasting small amounts of light of other colours to add spice to the whole.

Don’t worry at all about grain. It is all part of the spontaneity of your style, and the atmosphere of Tivoli. Actually the image in post #92, when you discussed grain and shooting hand held, is one I don’t think I would have liked much at all in a pin sharp and grainless version – I think I’d be saying there wasn’t somehow quite enough in the composition, but as it is I simply love the “I’m there…this is Tivoli’s magic” that image evokes.

I prefer the second image of the pirate ship in #97. The first doesn’t hang together for me with the foreground so white and the blue foreground lights too much of a contrast. It gives me the urge to crop the lower part away completely. Whereas I like these features in the second image.

Of course it can be nice to find a tree or post to lean on or handy flat surface occasionally, especially when so fortunately placed as for your #95! Perfect relationship of the foreground left tree, and the ribbon-like loops of the ride and its reflections with the pagoda.

Your last (for now) image is just perfect. Love the mishmash of footprints on the door step, and the exact placing of the frame's edge on the right that all together just make me feel I’m about to step inside.

                      Nisser here I come!
