This church seems to be a baroque style one.The "chariot" could be a cannon.

Are we in Spain or Italy?

You mean the horse and rider have been shot out from a cannon??

I'll be contrary and suggest that we are in Latin America??

Don't know.In fact the church made me think about Baron Munchausen then about human cannonballs.
This statue may be an allegory. But which one?

Well, as I said earlier, it didn't look like a chariot to me! I'm quite sure it's a cannon. But as I also said, I have not yet found out what the statue is about. I agree with Yves that it could be an allegory, or referring to a myth, but that is only my opinion, NOT a clue based on fact. I am as curious about it as you.
Harsh? No, no, no, surely not. Just seeking out a level playing field for everyone by trying to find somewhere that is not personally known to any puzzlers. Much more interesting that way, don't you think?

Yes, Ombugge, we are in South America.

I'm looking for equestrian statues of Pancho Villa or Simon Bolivar....in vain.
            Nevertheless I try Venezuela?????

No, Yves, not Venezuela, I'm afraid. Yes, I've been trying to find out more, but in vain. It's as much a puzzle for me as for you, the only difference being that I know where it is!

                        Because not, Yves.

Aha, that confirms it as being in Ecuador, which should narrow the search drastically.
So far I have found that this is NOT in Quito, or at least as far as I'm able to determine.
