    Re: What place is this?

I wonder if we need to work out what it's supposed to look like to help us search? To me it looks like a transistor radio.
    Cheers,

    Mark.

Transistor Radios used to come from Japan, but "something" (undefined) tells me this is NOT Japan.
Let' cut it down the middle. South Korea???

Ombugge, South Korea yes! Now where?
Yves, perhaps I could fit it in between the rhubarb patch and the runner beans? Although the stray clump of daffodils may find that a bit of a squeeze!

Have you all given up, then??? Ombugge, you are in the right country, but why not narrow it down? The building is nothing special, just an example of modern architecture, but where in South Korea? A bonus if you also name the actual district which bears the same name as a very recent modern craze.

It's the Hyundai iPark building in Gangnam, Seoul.

Can't wait to see the 'Ivy does Gangnam style' video.

Was really, really hoping someone else would solve this, as I don't currently have anything off the shelf. Oh well, better start looking (assuming I'm right!).

Coward! You've gone further than I had found out, Mark, as the photo I set did not name the building. Bonus upon Bonus.

Oh boy, you've got a long wait ahead of you unless, of course, you will give me a demonstration first, Markie?

OK, a simple one. What place is this?

Also - what bit of water is it taken from (extra points for naming the boat!).

                  Cheers,

                    The river is Tyne River.
No idea about the boat.Maybe the lifeboat according with the building of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen?

Well done Yves, yep, the mouth of the River Tyne on the way out from Newcastle. Seen from the rather pleasant 'Princess of Scandinavia' from the glorious days when there was still a direct ferry connection between the UK and Norway.

                      Over to you!!

Well done, Yves. I learned a new term through this puzzle - geoglyph. It looks very interesting.
