    Sorry, sorry sorrysorry
I so hope you are having better weather than we have for your vacation, Ralf, it's still very much like we are still in mid-winter over here. But seeing that the cold blast seems to be coming from over your way i am guessing it is much the same for you. Just hoping you are not having the rain and snow to go with it like we are.

Anyway, whatever the weather, enjoy your yearly visit to the farm. :-)

First glans; Somewhere in Continental Europe, along the flat coastal areas between Northern France to Poland, incl. Denmark.
Tram line, or light rail, which appears to be still active. (There may be a clue, bearing in mind who set this puzzle)
Cars on the right, with lights on in daylight. The bus lane is marked "BUS". Bicycle tracks on either side of the canal.
The canal could also be anywhere in that wide area, with what MAY be a Port in the far distance.
The architecture is fairly indistinct, including the Church. Little to tell you which country.

PS> I'll venture a wild guess; Den Haag???? (The "tram" being RandstadRail, which opened in 2006 and probably signaled by someone we know???)

        for sure holland

the white bus is one of ''Zwaluw reizen'' (swallow travel) located here in Giessen 400 meters away from me.

the truck,is one of ''Simon Loos'' trucking company, but this one looks like one of the food distrubution part.

the bleu signs on th crossing,in front on the busses

        oh yes holland for sure

only Amsterdam ,Rotterdam The hageu and Utrecht has tram lines,so can be only 4 places

it's utrecht, now to find it to the exact point

near the station and the exhabition building of the ''jaarbeurs hallen''

and the exact point is one of those colored dots, just how you had cut the image.
(but i think the orange dot flat)

Well done Thijs! Thought that wouldn't last as long as it did.

It's taken from one of the rooms at the NH Hotel on the corner - was staying there a couple of years ago for a railway exhibition.

Oh, and there was a minor bit of photoshop to remove the name from the building opposite.

            Over to you!
            Cheers,

            Mark.

didn't look for that, for the namethat was removed.
but only 4 tram cities ,and the church did it for me.
googling for curches in those 4 cities.

another one from a book, its diffecult for finding some images.
a lot of wel travelled members here, and ombugge takes al over south east asia,so that narrows it down.
but i believe we have no members from here.
so which country, city and bonus dumbs up for the building.

                Re: What place is this?

With those roof tiles I would say Italy. I did wonder about Fiesole, but I don't really think it's there.

But is Italy correct? If so, is it in Tuscany?
If your answer is too short, add dots - the censor doesn't mind

Sicily? There are certainly villages and small towns on top of hills there, and the shape of the balustrades or whatever you like to call it at the top of the walls looks rather typical.

Greece?.... but no idea where. The style of battlements looks a little familiar.
