    Re: What place is this?

Why does Ivy call Thijs a ROTTEN dutchie. What's the relevance of that?

We know the flags are South African - but has Thijs ever actually confirmed that the boats are in South Africa?

I'm getting tied up in conspiracy theories here!
    Cheers,

    Mark.

Yep, Mark, i am also totally confused and yes: he confirmed only to be the flag South African, not the place.

I don't know, where in Africa rotten Dutchies are supposed to live...so maybe we have to let Ivy solve this, she seems to be only person, who can work with the latest clues.

I am completely lost. I searched the entire rivers Vaal and Oranje, because there could be the Rotten Dutchie connection, but no efford.

Thijs, is that right: not on the Vaal and not on the Oranje river?

After thinking carefully about Thijs' clues, I decided on the Limpopo region. No conspirancy theories, Mark, I am privy to no more knowledge than the rest of you but light suddenly dawned. But after searching and searching methinks it was perhaps one of those false dawns!

I do wish more people would take a shot of the boat they travelled on, not just shots of the Hippo's that they saw on the trip!

                    Beekse Bergen Safari Park?

I can find photos of a boat called Stanley - although it doesn't look that much like the one in the picture.

I Googled Safari Boat Netherlands and it was the first thing that came up. The boats were painted differently, so I googled 'safari boot livingstone stanley' - still didn't find a good picture until looking for Beekse Bergen on YouTube and coming up with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqv_p5ofIXA

You displayed absolute Janihudi genius there!! Had us 3,000 miles away from where we should have been looking.

it was ''rotten'' from me to take this image, because there is totally nothing that would leed to the park.
so after placing the image,i had to think about cleu's.
the only www i had done, was to look about the name,i thought that the explorer was Stanley Livingstone.
                              so i learned too.
                              welty people to Africa?
they went for the hunt,a safari.so this was a cleu
lions and tigers. lions in Africa, tigers in asia, but in zoo's or safari /wildparks they live side by side. (in cages).

and yes,i was enjoying this Mark.
but if there wassn't a flag on your bell tower,i never thought of a dutch image.
but i'm no globetrotter,so most of my images are from close to home,or someting odd from internet, but that you can always trace.
