    Re: What place is this?

As promised, here now some more pictures.

Mark did find the correct link to their own site: http://www.kugelmuehle-neidlingen.de/39994.html

That, what is all about: the mill takes 24 hours to produce a perfect ball, there are different mills for different sizes. Wooden balls will prevent the blocking, if a ball breaks during the process.

And this is the result. Due to his normal work, the miller is able to collect stones and rocks from various places around. And each stone has its own colour and beauty.

Here is a collection of various rocks and the belonging balls.

This is my favourite: a ball made out of a fallen down dripstone from a nearby cave.

      And the "ground material":

Here a TV report in German. But i think the pictures speak for itself. The fixing of the stones before the drilling is the trickiest part for the miller.

      So over to you, Mark!!

        Re: What place is this?

That one kept us busy for a while - we make quite a team don't we! Don't think any one of us could have solved that one in a month of sundays, but together we got there in the end. Looks like rather a lovely little town and part of Germany.

As a bit of light relief, how's about this one - probably a little easier than the last one, but probably the best I have 'off the shelf' at the moment.

Note the low passing seagull - not sure if it's our one on her way to find Nordstjernen!!

        Cheers,

        Mark.

the dutch flag gave it away for me,Mark.
otherwise i wouldend think it was in Holland.
i surch for churhtowers in Holland, but after a lot of images nothing showed up,
untill i went to carilliontowers in holland, and after some scrolling this came up.
without the seagull and the wider view, the same corner as yours.

              btw,the ''janihudi'' comes from Maastricht.

well i have done some surching on the www,and found this colorfull boat.

not to give it away to easy,i removed the flags.

              best regards Thijs

It's certainly the South African national flag, Mark.
