this way of unlaoding is not in use anymore,from al the factories we had in holland there are just 2 left,1 in the north and 1 in the south,and if you can unload by yourself,you'r not welcome.



and offcourse the reason that i go every year with my uncle on the ''beetrace'' was that he let me drive at the factories and farmerland.
at the back of the images with the watergun stands march 82,so this was somewhere between oct 81 and march 82,nowadays the ''beetrace'' runs from late sept. til christmas /newyearsday

Now that was interesting seeing the different methods of unloading. I must admit I've never thought about it. I live in sugar beet land although there is very little in the immediate vicinity now compared to how it used to be years ago. The sugar factory is at Bury St. Edmunds, and while there is a good stretch of road between Diss and the small village of Wortham, after that if you are behind a beet lorry, you've had it! Crawl all the way. I don't go to Bury all that often so I don't know how long the "beetrace" goes on for.
So it was a beet truck you drove as a baby finch!

Going back to the photos of your uncle's truck unloading beet, I forgot to ask who took the photos, Thijs. Your uncle? They're good to have.

i toke those images,with a agfa camera with a casette roll in it,but i thougt i trow him away some yeras back,but to late for sorry now.
the images are of a squire size,and i take images of them with my nikon to place them here.

there was a truckshow today in my neighberhood,just as last year,but then it was the old years truckerfestival,this year it was called,truckers christmas festival.
same idea,same trucks (mostly) but earlier in december.
