Beautiful Sterkoder, beautiful --- both the city, the morning and the two ships, one of which I have served on both as a Captain and a Chief Officer.

After a long time since deliberately going out to take photos, yesterday evening came with an opportunity I could not resist.

I started down by the sundbåt docking at Nordlandet, for you familiar with the city, it's beneath the "Hollywood-sign" saying KRISTIANSUND right now.

For just a couple of years ago, this was a stinking fishfarm foodpellets factory. Today, it's a factory for culture, opened this summer with many concerts and other arrangements since then

Even though CVF (and I don't know why) make my pictures out of focus (guess we've discussed this before), I'll post a few more.

Wonderful pictures. And even if it is dark, i could follow your steps in my mind. The Kulturfabrikken is new to me and i think, they have found a great place for it!

Kulturfabrikken (Factory for culture) and the city scene, opened this fall, so it's a brand new arena for concerts and music of all sorts. And other things that might need a large scene and public area.

Anyway, a team of three (NEAS (our local electricity provider), StreamBird (video/camera) and Quality Grand Hotel, have made it possible for live stream from Kristiansund harbor in HD quality.
Don't know it the camera change angle, but when I checked in, it was pointing toward Markussundet inlet and the area where all the cruise ships come and go, and from time to time, the hurtigrutes go out, mostly on their southbound sailing.

There's also a new camera mounted at the City Hall now, viewing the Pier, City Hall Square, harbor and the beautiful scooner IDEAL (when she's in town)

Anywho, live webcams or not...., today we saw a very high tide here in Kristiansund. Well, not only here, but along the very coast of Norway.

That's correct, but sometimes I miss the cruise ship passengers, walking around with their paper maps (never heard of Google Map with direction to where you want to go?).
Anywho, in a quiet coastal city, they create life in the narrow city streets :-)

From a walk in the city Saturday, in black and white.

This might look like a long exposure photo, but there's a thin, thin layer of ice on the water

Kristiansund has got another high quality web-cam mounted.
This is the view from top of Nordlandet towards the harbor and Kirkelandet, can also be turned towards Markussundet inlet (as you know from the cruise ship arrivals and departures :-)

Yes, we just had the most wet snow shower for a long time here. One hour before, it was crystal clear, and it will be once the days are dry :-)
