Re: Endless thread ::: Aviation Photographs..

For Singapore, high and low visibility

I find this rather interesting, and got a few books on the subject, mainly because this is the way to identify aircraft, where they are stationed, what squadron or wing they belong to and so on. Guess I was close to a nerd in my aviation days

            #481:
Well, I've just put my pilot lisence to rest on the shelf after amost 30 years of flying, but the interest in aviation is so anchored in my back bone that I will always have that as a field of interest.
The interest for ships and maritime matters is a parallel interest which has been with me since the late 1960's.

            #482/3:
The 'Pakarang' view here is of a Lockheed P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft. Out of the picture only visible on my iPhone at this point, I can't tell of which navy or air force.

The plane that took us from SFO to DEN: Must be somewhat satisfying to see an Airbus in this livery, baring in mind the old Continental (pre UA merger) slogan: "If it ain't a Boeing, I'm not going"

United Airlines 747-400 in the "new" livery: (Long time since a 747 was seen in this livery, must be since CO scrapped/sold off their 747-200s over 20 years ago)

The plane from DEN to LGA: (Must say I prefer flying on the A320, to the 737 to be honest)

Re: Endless thread ::: Aviation Photographs..

I found a lengthy article on FlightAware for this week about an American visiting Cuba and his amazement at the planes he spotted there:
                    http://flightaware.com/squawks/view/...tional_Airport

There is also a report of what he saw and experienced away from the Airport. Quite interesting to read how an American view Cuba.

The comments on the FlightAware Forum is maybe even more enlightening .

Great photos Eirik - you did some miles didn't you! As you say, it's odd to see so many Airbuses in America - times really do change.
                      Cheers,

Fantastic photos Eirik you certainly found a great spotting area. Great to see the same aeroplane both on the ground and taking to the air. Very enjoyable to look at.

Love seeing detailed, clear and good photos of jumbo jets... probably one of the most amazing aircrafts in the sky, next to the Antonov and the A380.

Yes, I did quaite a few miles, enough to rack up about 24000 bonus points at SAS, which is more than enough to qualify for Eurobonus Silver... And yes, there's a lot of Airbus in the US, so the old mantra "If it ain't a Boeing, I'm not going" is pretty much dead now.

Thank you. That was a very nice spot at SFO, it's right behind the big windows in the United Red Carpet Club at the domestic terminal.

Yes, It's amazing that this plane is still in service, together with the 737... I missed a Lufthansa 747-400, though.

I like this series of pictures of an AN-225 flying:

                              Landing:

                              Taxiing:

                              And Parked:

                              All from FlightAware today.

Notice how the wings sag ones the lift comes off.
I noticed the same with the A-380. (Even more so, I think)
