I have so many threads to reply to, but will start with this one, as aviation history is my number one hobby.

Thank you very much for these very interesting photos.

Some of you may like to know that the British CAA has an online register with details on most British aeroplane histories.
(Wish other countries would do the same)

      Here is G-AEKW's owners:

Seems that the aeroplane has been restored for static display:
      (Anyone know the location?)

Comment on the Braathens SAFE DC-4 photo:

In 1947-48 Braathen bought four DC-4 Skymasters and made about 150 charterflights to other continents.
The company in 1949 got a 5-year license to fly scheduled flights to Hong Kong.
Routing as follows: Oslo or Stavanger-Amsterdam-Geneva-Rome-Cairo-Basrha-Karachi-Bombay-Calcutta-Bangkok-Hong Kong.

In this period, the governments of Denmark,Sweden and Norway, along with private interests started SAS, and Braathen's license was not renewed.

Great comparison, the real original C-130 Hercules and the russian "copy".
Lots of differences, but also a great deal of similarities

                  At Copenhagen’s Kastrup airport, 23 July 2010

This was the plane I took to Trondheim, flight WF355. I don’t seem to have noted the aircraft’s identification, being too busy ensuring I had the second image for possible use as my “Skyscape of the day” (though it was later rejected in favour of a Trondheim sunset!)

Kind of thought you’d like it pakarang. It was a hard call between it and sunset at The Last Viking statue .. . . anyway, back to air stuff – next are some photos at Ålesund Airport - Vigra 29 July 2010

                            Thanks for the pictures, Seagull.

btw LN-BUG used to be named "Øystein Haraldsson" when operated by Braathens.
