    SAS new livery 2019

Well, after a long wait, SAS finally present their new look today, 19th September 2019.
Sad to see the red engine go, and that the red has disappeared from the livery in total. Looks more like a Finish company now, all white and blue.
And equally sad to see they almost made a "Lufthansa touch".
Sorry, Jan-Olav, not my meaning to disappoint you, as the huge SAS fan you are.

Yes, you are right, but i had first to check the new Lufthansa design, which i did not notice before. They look like brothers now. Is it a sign that they will probably merge together in a couple of years???

      My first thought also.
LH has had their eyes on SAS for a while, haven't they?

Well, there have been close contacts between them all the time, they are the two founders of the Star Alliance. But Lufthansa is looking for a candidate, who is strong in the low budget business like Norwegian, write our experts. On the other hand is SAS-boss Rickard Gustafson apparently very successful with his consolidation course and looking for a strong partner or investor... I think it is no good idea to cange SAS into a low budget brother of Lufthansa. That would spoil the positive image of SAS.
Meanwhile they could have a common strategy since a while, but we are not dignified enough to get knowledge... but the similarity of the new design is remarkable.

Maybe the idea is to ina long term have the same look and feel, while keeping a number of company unique design elements, for all the Star Alliance members?

Yes, there have been rumours for a LONG time about a merger between SAS and LH. It's not quite likely to happen, but in the world of business, anything can also happen, right?

I don't think SAS will ever be a low-budget alternative to LH. That is very unlikely to happen based on the future plans of SAS to remain a quality airline.

I like the Scandinavian on the belly, but almost all A350 has that.

I like the silver SAS at the front of the fuselage. But Scandinavian would have been better, because it has broader recognition around the world.

I like the "poem" on the inside of the engines.

I like the shade of blue they picked.

    But.

I don't like the fact the new livery is too close to LH.

I don't like the blue stripe on the engine.... I would have preferred engines to remain red, or all blue.
