Le Grand Blue somewhere in the Mediterranean: I would guess the image is from around early 2000-2002...

And here is the ship some time later, photographed in Buenos Aires on November 26th 2004:

I might be shooting my own leg, but if my otherwise bad memory serves me right, I think this vessel, the Le Grand Blue, was (once?) owned by Microsoft Bill Gates??

Added some images of an already advertised yacht:

One of world's largest yachts: the OCTOPUS

Not a bad contender to become a home for the CVF family!

Here "Le Grand Blue" is in Forth Lauderdale, November 2009. Oasis of the Seas in the background.

I know I do like blue hulled yachts... and that it's hard to look at any other color. Green is a color I had never liked on ships, but then I saw one green ship in Stavanger, Norway (do you know which one?), and I actually thought it looked really good.

Another vessel with a green hull which also looks quite stunning is a former tug boat gone super yacht: the Lone Ranger.

I have a few images of the Lone Ranger, the oldest images were taken some time back in Flåm (Norway) with an early digital camera (thereby the quality is not too good)....

In 2003, I saw the ship in Cozumel (Mexico).... she looked stunning in the waters off this exotic port: May 16th 2003:

In 2004, she was still in the Caribbean: off Saint Barths on January 10th:

In 2005, she was spotted in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world, February 15th:

Going a bit classical with a tug boat conversion also appears as a really good choice when tastefully done like this one. She looks strong and she is a making a striking pose - despite her green hull.

Oh frustration - Got to go off in a moment, but not before enthusing about the great images just posted here and in the Octopus thread. (And I’m also enjoying the ports of call especially places where I’ve been since these photos were taken (BA and Ushuaia . . . and Flåm!).

Here is one more for our captain; with a navy blue top (in Flåm, of course) this should be to his satisfaction (if he doesn't prefer the bigger of the two...).

Re: Flåm. I'll come back later with pix from Flåm, maybe in its own thread.
(About the Lone Ranger. Awesome ship! I haven't found a homepage. Does anybody know?)

Good one! A typical Norwegian Yacht!

This one as well, another typical Norwegian Yacht....

PS: Sadly, I haven't been able to find a website for the Lone Ranger either... but we had some talk about this one in the old forum (includes some interesting links):

Zwarte Zee and the Lone Ranger - 1 in the same?

as was explane in the old thread they whare not the same, and the 'zwarte zee' was scrapt.

tug lovers had ask to smit of she can be saved and bring her back to holland for the tug museum.

smit have told them, that if the can maneged?? to rase (i believe) 40.000 guilders (what is about 18.000 euro) she bring her back for use as museumtug.

why 40.000 guilders? that was the price for filling her up with fuel for her homecomming trip.
we all know now, that they didn't maneged it. pity

Sorry to disagree. The "Lone Ranger" wasn't "Zwarte Zee", or even a Smit tug at all. (See post above)

Duly noted... this is what was discussed in the old thread as well, and as above, we came to the same conclusion.

Interesting yacht, also seen in Falmouth on 07 December prior to her delivery. We were told she was for charter at a price

Ok, if we go with this one, we are going to have a fight...I like her all white hull.....

How shall we settle this, other than going with the "his and hers" option??? I mean, one yacht is understandable, TWO is a little flashy and nouveau-riche, don't you think?
