Hello Lookchin darling. This is your Aunt C here . I am very pleased you enjoyed the NewYear Story so much, and how clever of you to have your portrait taken so that I could see for myself! Oh, you are wearing my favourite of those amulets I sometimes see on your photos. It must be a very comforting one, because you don’t look at all frightened by the scary bit about the shipwreck. But then I always knew you were such a Brave Bear.

You are really famous now you know! When I sent the story, I happened to notice that there had been 950 views of your thread, and today there are 1077! So that makes 127 –that’s a lot of bears!

Or just maybe some human beings sneaked a peep at this thread too, so the following is a comforting thought for them:-
No bears were harmed in the making of this story.
Ah” I can hear you saying “but what about that heart-wrenching photo in post#73 of the bear who had not survived? - you must have set that one up
Well, no actually. Sadly Real Life doesn’t always work out for the best for all bears, and this one apparently fell victim to the excesses of Edinburgh’s New Year celebrations and ended up in the icy river –along with cans and drink bottles and other party-going debris – as a wider view would have shown. I had been intending the photo for the “Abandoned Houses and Properties” thread (interpreting property in the widest sense), along with the equally sad remains of what we have identified as a whisky distillery (yes, really!) taken that very same day! But then I thought let’s give an abandoned bear’s short life some meaning by immortalising him (her?) in a Wild Bear Adventure.

Right, you can all stop sobbing, put the hankies away immediately, and start contributing to CaptainsVoyage Forum instead! (And possibly if your interesting posts happen to catch the attention of Wild Bear, you just might be one of the lucky two or three of people who get a tiny mention in next year’s Bear Adventure!)

No idea what's gotten into him these days, but I guess it's apart of growing up?

Now Lookchin...we have had this conversation over and over and over..

If you feel the need to experiment with drinking...you do it HERE, where you are safe...and I will nurse you through your hangover and cover for you with Jan-Olav if necessary. No prowling around on the streets, young bear!!!!!

(ps...we need to find you some cute boxers...those white undies have to GO!!!!)

Well E, that MrBear . . . just how appropriate was that!
Kind of spooky resemblance to the bear who didn’t survive too (wonder what happened to his Y-fronts . . . actually it was extremely likely that I’d have found such a garment floating around somewhere had I taken a moment longer to look . . .).
I think our beloved Bear will have got the message.

Once upon a time, there was a bear who went skinny dipping at Huay Mae Khamin waterfall in Kanchanaburi:

Lookchin wants to go on vacation.

Lookchin has asked me if he could be allowed to go on a short vacation, and since I won't be going anywhere in the near future, are there any members who would like to invite him into their homes for a few days (weeks) before passing him on, and letting him eventually arrive safely back home in Norway?

Lookchin sweetie, you can come and stay with your Aunt C anytime you want. Sea-Troll, Wild-Bear, Pippi and of course Berns the cool party duck would be delighted to see you I might even let you have my apartment for a while if I’m at D’s. Ummmmm, how are you going to get here though? There are (except during volcanic eruptions) flights from Trondheim to Copenhagen and from there to Edinburgh, but I wonder if SAS and BMI allow unaccompanied bears??? ???

How wonderful that would be Lookchin – you would have a great time with JB-Bear (see your Aunt E’s 365 project day 91) who would be very comforting if you got a little bit homesick (see day 106), and there are other friends, Telly and William (who featured in day 178).

However, Sea-Troll thinks that if you got the timing right you could easily get yourself an extended vacation aboard Crystal Symphony! Travelling to the ship would be no problem as Aunt E has lots of luggage(see her recent hotel room photos!). And providing you get permission from Jan-Olav and promise to behave in a grown-up and responsible way, your Aunt E just might buy you a Mojito in the Crystal Cove!

On behalf of Lookchin....: "Awwww.... you darling Aunties..."

Lookchin has been to the police station today to apply for his passport and necessary VISA's (though, he claims he should be able to "cute-himself-through-immigration".... )....

He is eagerly looking to visit Lady C in Scotland firstly, but as he says (rather demands to know in advance) (he can be quite demanding at times), only if Lady C promises to help him get on the next leg of his journey so that he can join Lady E on her Crystal-cruise on time...

Then, he would like to confirm his onwards journey from Lady E... he is such a detail freak, but I'm sure he'll be well on his way from the States as well...

Well, once he is on his own, I guess you will have to be his leader and make sure that he behaves respectably. As you have seen, he can be a bit mischievous sometimes, and needs lots of guidance...

Independently of discussion of Lookchin’s vacation plans, Lady C had been going to ask Lady E some details about her next cruise:
First Question: Is this it? Seems to fit with the first mention on the CVF calendar “EHP on Crystal Symphony”, though presume you leave the USA a day or so earlier?

Second Question: There are diary entries up to and including Friday 18th June. So what are you doing after arrival in Dover on June 14th ?

Goodness Lookchin, look what you’ve done, made me go OT here with Crystal stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
