E is in New York
Lady E is in New York
Just got a confirmation from Lady E that she has safely arrived in NY and that she misses all of us, including CVF. She has flown in an Embrair and just landed at Newark in crazy weather. She has had WEE FUN (so far)... whatever that means...

ASAP?????????????? What pressure is this????????
 - Well E, we sib-sisters have to stick up for each other when even Captain gets so impatient . . . . so:-E did say she was back, but busy catching up, and was giving a lecture at Alix’s school . . . . . . and even confessed about photos taken on the flight back . . . . . . . and said she spent what was probably most of one morning curled up with a big coffee mug reading about Cow Parade in Telemark . . . (sorry, that distraction was my fault…  )AND, most especially, kept her regular THURSDAY appointment with all of us crew . . . and I didn’t even have to stay up past my GMT bed-time to see the latest 365 installment like I sometimes have to!  …

Not starting a new thread for this, and since this is a thread "about" E...., here we go;
Noticed E's signature and the "I love and I hope" (j'aime et j'espere), and guess what...., it's also a little story behind that: When Thomas Jefferson traveled to France in 1784 to serve as a trade minister to the Court of Louis XVI, he took his twelve-year-old daughter Martha with him and placed her in a convent school, the Abbaye Royale de Panthemont. According to family tradition, the gold and enamel ring from which this bracelet is derived, bearing the phrase j'aime et j'espere was given to Martha by the British ambassador to France, John Frederick Sackville, Duke of Dorset, uncle to two of Martha's best school friends.

HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT, Big S????
Actually, I have a copy of the ring that Martha was given. Mine's not enameled, though. I liked it just plain gold. I've always loved the expression. It is a bit "deeper" than my usual life mottos" Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History" and "Never Do Anything You Wouldn't Want To Explain To The Paramedics"... (or, just for PilotDane, another of my mottos-- "Don't Trust Skinny Brewers")......
