    Amazing similarity between boats built nearly 40 years apart.

    What is the function of the nett stretched above the foredeck on these boats?

    And what is the peculiar looking green hull in the background going to become??? The fwrd. part looks like a sail barge, but the superstructure does not???

    This is a funny story, inventive as Dutch people are, they changed a inland tanker into a sailing ship.
    Tanker AMELAND 2309784 how she looked for about 40 years.

    Build: 1956 Stapel, Spaarndam (The Netherlands)
    Lxwxd: 43.47x7.20x2.82 456 Ton
    Engine: 240 pk Brons

    2005 Ameland changed into Soeverein and started a new live as partyship.

    Lxwxd: 58.42x7.20x1.20
    Engine: 365 pk Mitsubishi
