    Thanks for sharing those images...

I think if I ever were to go on such an excursion, I would be running my cameras and lenses glowing red from over-usage.

May I ask, how long is this event and at which time of the year is it normally taking place?

Next year Sun-N-Fun is usually April 21-26. They have camping at the airport and many volonteers arrive several months in advance. 10 years ago I would arrive a day or two early so I could be there and watch the flood of airplanes arrive. They use one main runway and the taxiway next to it as runways so they land planes side by side. Very good for photography because you will never see so many airplanes so close together and it is one right after the other for hours on end.

This was the same with Farnborough 2008. As one lot of craft were landing the next were either approaching the arena air space or taxiing ready for take off. Fantastic, meticulously run show. Red Arrows were actually performing in (IIRC) Belgium while show was on, and they were timetabled to perform at Farborough too. They just flew over, did an initial demo and landed, then took off later to do their full performance. Even their synchronised take off and landing is part of the show. One of the stars? The resurrected Vulcan Bomber. Far more agile than you would credit! Can't recommend the show highly enough for enthusiasts.

Edit: Wow! Just seen that I am now an Officer Apprentice - and only joined yesterday! How long before I rise to Wing Commander?! Do I need to grow a handlebar moustache?
