The hydraulic rear window is interesting. Do you know it's purpose?
The Teineskjaer is fishing by means of deep sea traps like these:
They are set on a long line through the hatch at the stern and recovered using the contraption you see on her Stbd. bow.
Since the traps are collapsible a large number of traps can be stowed in a relatively small space, contrary to what you see from the Crab boats off Alaska and the Lobster boats of Main, which is set individually.
They can be used to catch bottom fish, crabs, lobster or Norwegian Crayfish, depending on where and at which depth they are deployed.
Here is a deep water Norwegian Crayfish, (Nephrops Norvegicus Langoustine ) which may not be familiar to most:
A VERY good eat!!!
Oh, the infamous Langoustine. I recall some company was calling it lobster and there was a lawsuit to determine what it was and if it could be called lobster. Personally I think they are tasty. A bit closer to lobster than shrimp with a nice firm texture... a little butter and touch of garlic... Mmmm, I'm getting hungry.
"Nyskjer" (nope, not -skjær as one would think) at Krimek today

Somewhat smaller but faster Fishing boats seen in Nagasaki, Japan these last few days:
This may not actually be a Fishing boat, more like a Aquaculture boat:
But we cannot have a thread for everything.
This very typical Japanese inshore fishing boat didn't actually catch any fish:
They were on patrol to ensure that our 50,000 DWT Heavy Lift Carrier wasn't used to secretly do fishing while loading in their home water.

One of the most beautiful fishing vessels I've seen is "Svanaug Elise" in Kristiansund today.
This is yard nr. 68 from Eidsvik Skipsbyggeri AS in Uskedalen in 2001 to owner Kolbjørn Ervik & Sønner AS in Dyrvik.
(Lense: Tamron 18-200mm)
