    Default Pioneering battery-powered ferries

    Construction work on two pioneering battery-powered ferries is under way, with the cutting of the first steel at the Ferguson shipyard in Port Glasgow.

    Interesting project, but for the route I'm on, I'm afraid no battery is giving sufficient power in all kinds of weather.

    It'll be interesting to see how often they use their diesel generators

    I could off course be totally wrong, but I have to state that I have no previous experience with ANY battery powered ships (boats I have experience with, in my bath tub as a child).
