The future of CAR FERRIES and CAR FERRY docks/facilities
Here is a subject for those of you that has good ideas.
Inititally, this is something we have been talking about on board Korsfjord, and we have some ideas, but I would like to see and hear what others can come up with.
Across the Trondheimsfjord, there might never be built a bridge (too far), and there might never be a tunnel under the fjord (too deep), nor might there never be any combination of both, or floating tunnels (too much current).
So, up here, we are probably going to see ferries crossing the fjord for many years to come.
My questions are, and it naturally needs to be economically safe and provide a fast communication for commuters across the fjord....:
1) How will the future ferries be like?
2) How will the future ferry facilities ashore be like?
3) How can it be done with a minimum manning, and still done safely?
4) How can we ensure that ferries will run in almost any kind of weather the fjord can throw at the ferries and the docks?
If the more artistic of you would like to provide sketches and drawings, I would be extremely happy to see what ideas you can come up with.
