Default Details of ships and boats

We have threads for many different types of vessels and one for any kind of vessel -Ship Spotters and Maritime Image Thread- which was meant for single images of ships, boats and anything Maritime.

Not to clutter up these threads I'll create one for detailed picture of vessels and their machinery, equipment and accommodations for those who like that sort of things.

Starting with a modern Offshore Construction Support Vessel, the Normand Clough. (She has been featured here before, in posts 390 and 394)

Here she is as seen in Chiwan, China two weeks ago:

One of two ROVs permanently carried on board:

She also carry a "portable" 16-men Saturation spread and an Air Dive spread on deck, but that was outside my scope of work.
Here is the Rescue Chamber though:

No Hyperbaric Life Boat on board.

The life boats are backed by another 100% coverage in Life Rafts on either side:

The Helicopter deck is also a good help if evacuation of the full complement of 120 persons should be required:

(Or just evacuation of non-essential personnel in case of approaching Typhoon etc.)

The Helicopter Lounge on top of the Bridge is comfortable for waiting passengers:

But it is not all work and no recreation.
The Mess Room is spacious but does not seat all 120 persons at the same time:

Food is an important part of life for people working 12 hour shifts for weeks on end:

There is also three Recreation Rooms. One designated for smokers:

Those with sharp eyes and local knowledge can probably see where the pictures on the wall comes from.

After all that good food, it is time for some exercise:

In case anybody should get sick or hurt, there is a fully equipped Hospital, with an Examination Bench:

    Two bunks:

    And even a Bath Tub:

For the present assignment the vessel carries two qualified Doctors from SOS International on board at all time.

That will have to do for today. Tomorrow I'll take you on a tour below deck, incl. the Engine Room and the Thruster compartments etc.

It appears so!! Unfortunately the American version. The true Italian thin-crust pizza is rarely found, except in Italy and at my favourit pub here in Singapore. (I'll take a picture the next time I order one)

On with the task at hand, details from the good ship Normand Clough.
But before we get below deck, a few more pictures of the work deck.

Here is a view of the deck from the bridge:

But this view will constantly change as equipment is installed and remove, depending on the tasks to be carried out at any time.
What is seen here is semi-permanently installed Dive spread and some Well intervention equipment over the moon pool.

Here is the near empty deck as it looked in April, 2010, just after she arrived from GOM :

Well intervention equipment being installed on deck:

The Moon Pool was also under modification at that time:

Wooden deck cladding being removed to facilitate installation of equipment:

But stowage along the escape route in the Cargo Rail is NOT acceptable:
