I tried to put together a list of "ships we meet" during the journey south. Not too easy by just using the time-table.

    1/11 Polarlys in Berlevåg 22:45
3/11 Trollfjord at Vestfjorden between Svolvær and Stamsund, about 20:30?
4/11 Kong Harald between Ørnes and Nesna, on the morning about 8:00?
    4/11 Lofoten in Rørvik 21:30
    5/11 Midnatsol in Trondheim 06:30
5/11 Tidefjord in Flakk, about 10:30?
5/11 Vesterålen between Kristiansund and Molde, about 20:00?
5/11 Nordkapp between Måløy and Florø, about 06:15? With Keelson on board

Richard With, Nordstjernen and Nordlys are out of traffic due to servicing.
All ship meetings seems to be in darkness, well Kong Harald might just be a bit dusky?

    It'll be Tidefjell.

Please note that the first departure of that particular day will be at 08:30.

This is also the day Korsfjord is expected to return from her guarantee docking later in the afternoon, so you might meet her out in the fjord or south of Trondheim.

We are not sure exactly what time Korsfjord returns to town that day. Her stay at FIskerstrand Yard finishes on November 4th if everything goes according to plan.

    Sorry, of course it's Tidefjell,

Since we'll be a bunch of people interested in photography it might be handy to know the hours for sunrise and sundown:

    1/11 (Båtsfjord) 08:05 - 14:20
    2/11 (Hammerfest) 08:07 - 14:12
    3/11 (Sortland) 08:23 - 15:02
    4/11 (Nesna) 08:15 - 15:23
    5/11 (Kristiansund) 08:18 - 16:03
    6/11 (Bergen) 08:15 - 16:26

I would say breakfast before sunrise, dinner after sundown!

I did a crosscheck and have some different and some additional timestamps:

    1/11 (Båtsfjord) 08:05 - 14:20 (7.35 - 13.51)
    2/11 (Hammerfest) 08:07 - 14:12
    3/11 (Tromso) 08:24 - 14.30
    3/11 (Harstad) 08:21 - 14:53
    3/11 (Sortland) 08:23 - 15:02
    4/11 (Bodo) 08:19 - 15:12
    4/11 (Nesna) 08:15 - 15:23
    5/11 (Trondheim) 08:09 - 15:56
    5/11 (Kristiansund) 08:18 - 16:03
    6/11 (Bergen) 08:15 - 16:26

I you look at the times, West-East movements seem to have a bigger influence than North-South, mainly, if you look at the sunrise.

Too bad you are in Harstad on a Thursday...I'll know around the 30th of October if I get the chance to meet you guys onboard or on the dock. But right now, I think it is a schoolday.
Do you know wich ship you'll meet in Harstad?

I checked on the Hurtigruten website, and there is no northbound ship at Harstad on the 3rd November. (There are three "gaps" as Richard With, Nordstjernen and Nordlys are out of service).

I'm in fact a bit exited about this trip. Mostly because it's so hard to predict how the weather, lighting and nature will turn out. It will definitely be very interesting, and relaxing. I see there's a jacuzzi on board, do you think it's operational this time of the year?

At least as we are some interested persons to use it, we should discuss it with the crew, if not. There are no real highlights on this cruise. Except of Trondheim no tour offers and three northbound ships missing, they should leave us this fun. We will arrange something with them, if it is not operating.

I believe it is usually possible to arrange, except if it is very rough (though I'm not sure just how rough is very rough!!!!).

The forum members onboard will be Tommi,Ralf and Cecilia?
I've done some thinking, and found out that the chances of seeing me on the dock in Harstad or even onboard when in town are increasing. If I take a bus to central Harstad early in the morning, I will be able to go onboard and miss only parts of the first class at school. So right now, I'd say it is a 75% chance of me coming down to the dock and possibly going onboard aswell.
But as I've said before , I'll know for sure in about 2 weeks

Didn’t hear back from Asimut. Perhaps he's been in touch with you, Ralf.
Actually I don’t think I've seen him around on CVF all week…hope all is well…

I am not in contact with him. I don't know if he is interested in personal contacts. Did he ever have? He did not join our Task-Force-Circle. We will have to wait until he steps in again...

Latest news from Sweden are that I have thought out how to pack my things and also repaired the built-in flash in my camera so I can travel a bit more lightly without a external flash. I've also booked a room at Arlanda to avoid the need to get up 03:00. I took the cheapest alternative, that just happened to be "that aeroplane-place".
Full speed at work, it'll be really nice to get away for a week.

Not the Jumbo Hostel ****pit Suite?

Can't wait for the pictures, make sure you bring battery and memory enough!

PS: Even though I'm now serving on the fantastic ferry TIDEFJELL as her Captain, it seems like KORSFJORD will be back again here on Sunday 30th of October.

That would mean, the next weekend, I'll be back on KORSFJORD.
