I can not wait to see the video of her first float.
I can not wait to see the video of her first float.
I´m working on it. :-D
Maybe i have to save some money and buy this.

The Rudder is working now.
Matthias
Why can we see the servo? I expected to see the transom. I am used to seeing a solid transom with the rudder servo inside the hull. Is there a removable, waterproof plate/cover or does the servo work "wet"?
I'm getting excited about your project. I wish you lived on this side of the Atlantic. I have the perfect test pond in my back yard.
Thank you Dane.
The stern was left open for for better installing and controlling the components. Later this will be a watertight space.
A section of the trawl slip will be removable when finished.
Matthias
Amazing work antias, she is looking fantastic. And i just have to say i love the sound that bow thruster makes, nice to hear that even the model ones make that distinctive noise!
Like everyone else i am looking forward to seeing her in the water when the time comes. Very impressive work.
Your charts, your radar, your eyes and ears - if all 4 agree, you may proceed with caution.
Steve, thank you very much. Your feedback is very important for me. The speed control will be replaced to add a sound i heard from a tanker in Oslo.

Both ships together.
Tomorrow the Boatbuilder Weekend starts.
Matthias
Thank you for the new photos. As much as I want to see both of them motoring around my pond I think they would look even better with some waves. Though my pond has a nice clean mud bottom, perfect for a trawl.
Dane, I do my very best. :-D
I started to create the Superstructure on the Shelterdeck.
Matthias
The ship is growing.
Matthias
You are moving along. It looks like she will be ready for water this summer.
Dane, i work every free time i have.
Today the new material arrived. So i could made some more superstructure.
Matthias
My circular saw quits last friday so I could not craft the last superstructure wall´s. The only part i added then was the forecastledeck. Grinded from full material. ;-)
Nice picture. --> klick
Matthias
The yard works again. Yesterday the lower front wall of the superstructure was made.
Matthias
Very succesful Sunday. The Superstructure is nearly done. Still the Wheelhouse missing. But i need engeneers knowledge or contact to the real one.
Matthias
I'm not able to find any bridge layout for the Havbryn and her sisters. (that would probably have changed in different direction by now anyhow)
The nearest I could find was this picture from a similar size Alaskan Pollock trawler, the Pacific Glacier:
Here is the bridge, but no explanation of what is where:
While searching I found this old picture of the first Norwegian Factory Trawler, the Longva:
Here on her maiden voyage from the yard. Built at A.M.Liaaen, Aalesund in 1962.
I don't know if this is of any interest:
You are not going to put in a factory as well I assume?
Another interesting picture of a Factory Trawler in a bit of head waves in the Barents Sea:

WOW!! Thats a very good looking Wheelhouse. Thank you very much.
I have a lot of space inside of the model, but i think i don´t build the factory . ;-) I´m afraid of the temperatures in the fishmeal plant.
Matthias
I think the first photo needs a few more birds.
Good idea, i need birds. :-D
So due to the very inaccurate drawings i made my own thoughts about the wheelhouse. All walls are only taped togehter as long as I not completely sure of their shape.
