The Storm Class has evolved a bit from the Tjeld Class MTB's that I was on for this same exercise in the same area in 1965:

My youngest son is up there now for this one, sleeping in tents out in the field while protecting the country from whatever.

I don't know what, and it has nothing much to do in a thread about navy vessels, but F-16s were specially permitted to break the sound barrier close to shore, but still above 32.000 feet yesterday. They were in a hurry to identify russian aircrafts flying close to norwegian border.
People in Finnmark were chocked, as inventory, like mirrors, glass, pictureframes and other stuff broke or fell down.

(I don't belive that and suspect there are someone who wants 15 minutes of fame, as the Mythbusters on Discovery channel tried to break glass and stuff with two Blue Angels F-18s at the speed of sound all the way from 30.000 to 500 feet above ground. By pure luck, they broke a window when executing the test at low level). NOW I'm OT!!!

A little friendly tips, to anyone:
Try use Google a bit more.
(I can't imagine that anyone seriously belive that all my answers through my time here at CVF comes from within my head only ??)
In this case all I had to do was Google "Kystvakt W322", and up pops KV "Andenes"...
