Thanks .... would be really cool if there was some way to see the current highest bid on both Oksoy and Glomma.

I think they, or just one of them, would look really great painted blue, renamed Norway II and serving as CaptainsVoyage head quarters.

Any millionaires (or ordinary people) out there (D. Trump, I know you come here to read sometimes when you bored... ) who would like to buy me the ultimate gift?

You could rent it or parts of it as vacation loft or CV member hostel. In the Glomma offer they stated it has 40 beds. If i was you i would concentrate on Glomma, because they removed all bridge equipment out of Oksoy. But we should have a room where we can play "ship simulator". Also Oksoy has a hole in the bottom which is not properly repaired...
If you have a place where you don't have to pay a berth fee, i think an offer of 100 NOK would not be bad?!

I have the space... own sea front... with a dock which could be used... with no docking fees as long as it's for my habitat and yes, even hostel....

I can offer sea eagle safaris and cod fishing trips, and some trips to islands in the area.

This Russian aircraft-carrier boat had a strange story. When it was being built it was called “Riga” - the name of Latvian capital city, but just after the construction was over and 20 minutes later the ceremony of the ship’s launching started they got a call from Moscow demanding to change the name to “VARYAG”, probably just because at that time Latvia demanded independence, so Russian government understood that if they leave the old name, in just a few months one of their top-ships would carry the name of the capital of the another state. So they called and changed the name same day the boat was launched. That was a bad sign.

A few years later, they couldn’t maintain it anymore, and the ship itself demanded some sort of upgrading so they decided to… sell it for iron-and-steel scrap! The company which bought it couldn’t transport it to scrap site, mainly because Turkey didn’t allow the private company to pass the big and scary aircraft-carrier through its waters it in time so it stayed for one and a half year and they seriously considered on abandoning it. Later they got permission from Turkey and moved it from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea. And then in Mediterranean it has almost got stuck on sandbank. So it took it a few years to come to travel in its the last journey.

How strange... she is China, but in the information that was provided, she made it to the Med... so I checked her out on wikipedia, and that gave me some pretty interesting reading:

Currently the ship is being examined and repaired by China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) after purchasing it at auction[3]. It was widely reported that the ship would become a casino in the Chinese SAR of Macau. This has been proven incorrect as the ship is in a drydock in Dalian and painted PLAN grey. Many analysts believe that the ship will be used for training as China builds an indigenous aircraft carrier with greater capability.

Never heard of this incident: now on sale in a book:

    In English:

This episode will be a huge salvage operation from the Americans, led by eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes. What now accessible archives reveal is that in reality the ship sank while trying to launch one of its devastating nuclear missiles on the U.S. naval base of Pearl Harbor. This would be an episode of the Tom Clancy - but true - if the Americans had when they recovered the remains of K-129 to the surface, found that the building of the USSR was disguised submarine in Chinese! The authors demonstrate that the operation was premeditated, and not the act of a rogue commander, and that the aim was to ignite a war between the USA and China. This book is a bestseller in the United States , a film and general public is being prepared.
