Absolutely awesome images from both Bergen and Tromsø!
Beautiful ship, beautiful shots... clear, large enough to see the details, and perfectly exposed !
Well done guys, you have made me really proud about the start of this thread!

Only one picture of the "Ocean Countess" today in light snow showers.
Sorry about the crane and the ugly chimney pipes from the hospital in the background..

Had you asked me about 10-15 years ago if this was a "handsome ship" I would have objected, but now, seeing the newest images, she is actually a very nice looking vessel.
Over time, my view on what is a "nice ship" has certainly changed: maybe because we have lost so many classical liners the last years?
Thank you Tom for your continuous outstanding and very inspiring works of art.

All 2011-season cruise calls in Trondheim have been added to the CV Calendar...
Subject to changes off course.

I just had a look at the list of Cruise Ships to visit Aalesund this year: http://www.alesund.havn.no/local_cgi...portclient.exe
The number of visits is about normal but the season is getting longer, starting in mid March and ending late Sept.
Some days are so busy that one ship will have to stay at anchor )20.07 and 25.07), while QE hasn't even been assigned a place yet (29.07)
Pity there isn't any regular contributor to CVF in Aalesund to catch the action.

Great images of the AIDA ships... probably among the best photographs I have seen of these ships.
I'm surprised at some of the images: these ships look really tall.

So, I went up this morning at 6 AM to see the QM2 arrive in Oslo today, took in total 230 pictures, now left with 17 I'd like to show y'all... Most of the shots were taken from Akershus festning, there are quite a few very good spots there to see her approach, all the way from when she rounds Nesodden.

Now, this is from her departure. Damn, that horn is loud...
First, size comparison with the Crown of Scandinavia:
Then, size comparison with the Stena Saga; Makes both of them look like small jollies in comparison...
Now that's it... She is scheduled to pay Oslo another two visits, so I might just pop down to take some shots then. I have to say though, that she certainly was a special sight, and there was a real sense of occasion to approach her, a truly majestic ship, I must say.
