Thank you both of you, Lady C and Nichu.

Indeed, a great place to take pictures from, the SOGN....

Great pictures from the "CS" arrival to TRD.
There must be something special for you to take pictures of a ship that has meant so much to you.

Thank you so much Bengt, indeed... I did have a tiny tear in the corner of my eye. I have many good memories from this ship, on all 5 continents of the world. Thousands of memories....

Very nice pictures. It is a true joy to watch this fine lady. I feel almost a true sensation of "wanting" to be onboard, and a great interest of getting to know this beautiful lady and her crew better.

I might get a little romantic here, but being a true fanatic of cruiseships and all related to the extremely fascinating maritime business and history I must confess that I feel an eagerness to serve on her, and to be part of the Crystal family. What a fantastic feeling it would have been to stand on her bridge and being the officer of the watch responsible for navigating her safely to Crystal Cruises wonderful and exotic destinations.

It's the best experience in the world, I can testify that for sure. You should really try to contact ICMA in Oslo, they might have something for you.

I have actually considered contacting ICMA, but I have never taken the "step". I take the bus everyday to work and pass by the ICMA office located in front of Jernbanetorget in Oslo. You could all easily imagine that I "dream" everyday...

Well, you should never say never. But my current situation is the following: I am extremely happy in my current shore job in shipping. I am extremely happy and have a very convenient life ashore in terms of family and friends.
As you all know, sailing in the cruiseindustry means getting paid in US dollars and that doesn't add up in the equation if you want to live in Oslo, Norway with a family.

However, had I've been based in another country, and still been sailing the seven seas, ICMA would have received my application a long time ago. You bet.

As for now, I just keep on day dreaming, and deliberately give myself the opportunity to get nostalgic once in a while and think of the incredible experiences I have had at sea.
Nevertheless, I still can sit down and analyze my current situation and say that I am extremely happy the way things are at the moment.

Again, as stated above, you never know what the future brings...

I was looking at the 2013 calendar--the family was thinking of another North Pole trip--but Symphony isn't going up to 80N and Longyearbyen!!!!!!! We were hoping for more sea days! But it does hit some spots we didn't last time...so maybe....just maybe. Wish it stopped in Trondheim though--so if I ever hope to meet up the the Master of THIS ship, looks like I'm going to have to drag him along somewhere..............
    Cheers!!

Crystal Symphony - Baltic Adventure... a new production from CaptainsVoyage Films!

Hope you will enjoy the whole production, or at least parts of it.
