Jan-Olav did mention the low elevation pictures recently and i was wondering, how you did shoot them. And here is the explanation. You were out with the boat! Nice! That must be fun.

Thanks, I'll keep trying :-)
I've just noticed that the forward looking webcam aboard "Nordlys" is now working - this time a higher quality version.

As I write she is in Geiranger. Fingers crossed for more to come back online!
Now the AIBN says in another preliminary report that fatique cracks in fuel pipes seems to be the reason for the Nordlys fire. The theory about a loose fuel pump seems to be abandoned.

Glorious and very special image of Nordlys, Carina. All your wonderful way with hurtigrutes arriving and leaving Stamsund in light like this now seen here in Bergen! We are so lucky! Thank you so much for posting here and in the other ships threads –I can see you are enjoying your new surroundings, and all the very best success to you in your studies.

Out testing my new fisheye lens.

Great pictures Bengt and Speedbird. The fisheye looks pretty cool. The ship looks even bigger![]()
WOW amazing picture Speedbird! I like that photo angle. And congratulation to your new lens, it seems to have been a good investment.

Great to see that you're back Speedbird! And what a fantastic angle of view!
Nordlys seems so massive with that angle indeed !!
I attach an old photo of MS Nordlys (taken in Finnsnes in March 2010) with serveral ships around. The rescue guys were there because a ship was actually sinking just a few meters from that scene (it is weird to think about it now as Nordlys had trouble herself sometimes later ...!).

Here are photos of the bridge, also taken in March 2010 (I don't know if it has changed since the possible refurbishment?). Jon Olaf Klodiussen was the captain, he is a very pleasant guy.
This was my first Hurtigruten trip. When MS Nordlys got into trouble in Alesund, It felt very weird ...
