By a mistake, I accidentally deleted this thread.... so here is the posts which disappeared...

This is a BRAND NEW thread created only for those most AMAZING and INCREDIBLE maritime images: not to be mistaken for the very popular Ship Spotters and Maritime Image Thread.

If you have an image you feel is truly spectacular, then this is the thread for you!

This thread will be a delight to watch, given that people post only spectacular images.

We've seen this kind of threads in other forums also, but it soon got filled up with unsharp, tilted and quite ordinary images, so the thread went out in syberspace totally forgotten.

I know, each and every one belive their own image is very special....., but I mean, we all have the capacity to understand when an image should be posted in the ordinary ship photo thread, and when an image might be posted here.

So, Jan-Olav...., do you see before you certain criterias, or is there only up to the photographer him-/herself to decide which image goes in here...???
Do you by any chanse have an example or two just to lead us in the right direction...??

I don't have any rules, but I'm thinking that I'll do it this way: lock the thread and when a special image is posted in another thread, I will move them here. How does that sound?

The images in this thread should have a certain WOW-factor to them... they should be planned, well executed, balanced and be a bit out of the ordinary.

The thread is not meant to be filled with all sorts of images, only those very special ones. It doesn't need to be a full ship, but also maritime oriented images.

I think this is an image which is so beautifully executed that it should be copied to this thread. The original thread is located here: This is Tromsø.

This is the images I wanted to COPY to the thread, when instead ending up deleting the thread.... it's on days like these I should stay in bed, and not come out at all.... this is so embarrassing!

Hurtigruten ships saying hello as they pass by and wakening some of the lighter sleeping passengers as they did so disappearing all too soon, a short encounter but one that would be repeated the following day due to the Hurtigruten timetable.

Todays Fram in Bergen along with Lofoten

"Fram" finally arrived in Tromsø early this morning.
She sailed into Tromsø in beautiful morning sunshine at 7:15 AM and there were some passengers on the bow upon arrival to the city.

Here is some pictures from this morning.

Fosen during sea trails at the Trondheims Fjord on Tuesday night:

"Amadea" departing Tromsø this evening and heading south to Geiranger.

Picture taken 12 minutes ago when the sun drops behind the mountain and the rain was falling wich gave the picture a beautiful light.

"Boudicca" inbound to Tromsø at noon today.

[Asimut]

"Aida luna" came at an unexpected visit to day, the reason was that it was to bad weather conditions in Honningsvåg so they call at Tromsø instead.

She left Tromsø at 20:00 in the evening, bound for Iceland



Here, she disappears into the rain and mist.
