The pictures in Orionboy's Album is very interesting and cover 10 years of her history. (Deserves to be posted directly on this thread for easy access)

We have now identified the third vessel of this type, converted to ferry in Norway in 1950's; M.S. Sunnhordland, now Kristina Brahe and originally PCE 830 / HMS Kilchrenan. She traded the Bergen - Stavanger route for many years.

Where there any more then Sognefjord, Valldal and Sunnhordland of this type?
The hunt is on, we shall see.

      Patrol Escort Craft (PEC)

Well, I can answer my own question, there were a total of seven of this class PECs sold (or given?) to Norway after the war.
A total of 15 of the KIL-Class were built and handed over to the Royal Navy on a lend/lease deal. Here is their history:
      PCE 827 - HMS Kilbernie - MS Haugesund - Scrapped 1997
      PCE 828 - HMS Kilbride - MS Jylland - Scrapped 1988
      PCE 829 - HMS Kilchatten - MS Stavanger - Scrapped ???
PCE 830 - HMS Kilcheranan - MS Sunnhordland - Kristina Brahe (Existing)
PCE 831 - HMS Kildary - Rio Vouga, Spain (Cargo Ship Scrapped 1980
      PCE 832 - HMS Kildwirek - Sunnfjord - Sunk on tow, 1983
PCE 833 - HMS Kilham - Sognefjord - Orion - Orient Explorer (Existing)
      PCE 834 - HMS Kilkenzie - Nadodd (Cargo Ship) - Scrapped 1978
PCE 835 - HMS Kilhampton - US Navy - Unknown
PCE 836 - HMS Kilmalcom - Rio Aqueda, Spain (Cargo Ship) - Unknown
PCE 837 - HMS Kilmarnok - US Navy - Unknown
PCE 838 - HMS Kilmartin - US Navy - Unknown
PCE 839 - HMS Kilmelford - US Navy - Unknown
PCE 840 - HMS Kilmington - US Navy - Unknown
PCE 841 - HMS Kilmore - US Navy - Unknown

2 out of 15 after 65 years is not bad as far as mass produced ships goes.
Anybody got pictures of the other vessels converted to ferries in Norway, or the three that is listed as "for merchant trade"?

                hello!

Yes 3 of these ships that were rebuilt as ferries in norway, ended in finland. The uss pce 829 later stavanger and kong sverre, was actually bought by previous owner of kristina brahe as they had engine break in fall 1979.the uss pce 829 had change name as capri corne and was laid up a long period in norway(it was supposed to sell in italy but later cancelled). So they needed a new sb side engine and capri corne was raped by some huligans and was no longer in sailing condition.Mr bengt fagerlund (owner of kristina brahe 1974-1984)make a deal with one demolition company located in hamina finland. They buy both engines propellers etc spare parts from the ship in a bargain price, and the hull was left for the demolition company. This whole story is in a book that mr bengt fagerlund wrote in 1989.I have that book and there is all about from 10 years the fagerlund owned the ship.

                  Related to previous:

I have plenty pics of the kilham/sognefjord norwegian ferry sisters. Also about sognefjord. Some of them i found on internet and some of them were sended to me from norway by lars helge isdahl. There is also book of these six sisters in norwegian language called "frå krigskip till flagskip" by otto ersland. It was published in 2006 and i bought it on internet, maybe it`s still on sale. That book includes very nice pics of these ships.I also have small publication that fylkesbaatane made in 1982 ,when sognefjord made last voyage for that company. There is small stories of all these ships and few pics (in norwegian language).

                    ...continuing

The movie orions belte, as you know is related to m/s sognefjord because they used m/s orion as base ship.I found two years ago from internet a double disc and remastered version of this movie. There is a making of the movie document and it includes nice shots of m/s orion.

                      and something more...

when my father sailed m/s orion from cyprus to malta in fall 1994 (they were coming back to finland)and they stopped there, they had visit from m/s jylland`s ex pce 828 old chief engineer. He saw a familiar silhouette in the harbour and wanted to look what ship was that.He remembered all the staff in engineroom and was exited to see jylland`s sistership.m/s jylland sailed in norway 1948-1967 and in malta 1967-1984 in 1985 it was sold to cyprus but it got damaged as having a fire while laid up ,and 1988 it was broken up in aliaga turkey

Please post the pictures you have of these ships here on this forum for everybody to enjoy.

Please also invite Lars Helge Isdahl to join the forum, as he probably has a wealth of info on these ships that he may be able to shear with us.
