This video contains content from Channel 4, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
I'm starting to not become a big fan of Channel4.

I have been informed that those outside the UK still cannot view the programme, even via YouTube due to copyright reasons.

One suggestion I was told was - "Open a UK free website like Yahoo. Paste the link into the page, click the link, it'll fool the UK server into thinking its .co.uk site."

This might work for viewing the program, it's an online Proxy Service list.

Oh yes, as I belive I know him, he will be very pleased!

After viewing the whole video, I'm sitting here in awe of the shipbuilders, and I feel almost an eager to go there with my camera to take that bows pictures from every angle in every light conditions...
(Wonder how it will look in pouring rain backlighted with a strong spotlight?)

This was a great video to me, as I know very well what a shipbuilder is, thinking back on my father and grandfather and their days with the Sterkoder Ship Yard over here.

Now, I would very much like to know where I could find the episode about the making of the replica Titanic anchor with the Channel 4 gang

The episode has not yet aired in the UK, it will air on Monday 4th October, as soon as I have the link I will post it here. But if you scroll back to page 4 in this thread you will see some images and a short video of the anchor pull. I have a member on my forum that is supplying historical Titanic information for this series and he was at the anchor pull. If you don`t know what the anchor pull is, in 1911 after Titanics center anchor was manufactured in the Midlands it was pulled by many horses through the streets to the train station, there it went by train to the North West and then by boat to Belfast, from there it was transfered back to Horse and Cart and then pulled through the streets of Belfast to the Harland & Wolff shipyard.

Sorry, I do go on a bit were Titanic is concerned.

                      Oh, what can I say?

Those were some very well spent 45 minutes watching... I loved evry part of it, and wish I could have seen the unweiling of the bow myself. I had for a moment a tear in my eye, and that is rather strange since I have no Irish roots.... but, I guess, it was because I could easily understand how proud they were of the ship and what they created.

And learning how she (the ship) was assembeled makes her really come alive.

One thing I sit back with after seeing the clip is a question about the finished "bow"... will it be displayed somewhere for the future?

PS: Did anyone notice the ship in the background at around 35 minutes in?

The Bow will stay in Belfast next to the Thompson Graving Dock, where Titanic was fitted out. There is a lot of work going on around the area and when complete, in time for the 2012 100 years anniversary, will be called the Titanic Quarter. I have a member who lives in Belfast and she will be getting some images of the replica Bow, so I will post them when I have them. On another note, the White Star Flag that was flying from the Bow at the end of the film, was stolen within 48 hours of the Bows unvailing. Very sad

Glad you enjoyed it Jan-Olav, it took some time but we got there in the end, I hope it was worth the wait. Look out for Part 2 next week

Thank you so much for all your efforts... it was highly appreciated. My life was really enhanced with that clip!

So sad to hear the White Star flag being stolen... when seeing it being raised in the clip, I was actually thinking, how easy and cheap would it be to make your own flag in the similar shape and pattern, for use at home.

The good thing was that it was only a replica White Star Flag and there are many places in the UK that you can purchase one.

Part two of the series aires in the UK tomorrow, I will post the link as soon as I have it

What an absolute cracking film that was Bill, I can't wait to see the other part.
A brilliant tribute to the Belfast workforce!
Work starts next week on Southampton's Sea City Museum, it will contain a Titanic museum and open on the anniversary of the sinking.

When seeing that clip, I clearly understand why the Irish people of Belfast were so proud of their ship.
